microsoft has announced that all copies of crackdown will come with Beta, blatently they know that people will buy crackdown just for the beta.

HD dvd is region free as standard no region coding so you can buy any xbox 360 hd dvd player from any country and use any hd dvd fom any country.

Got the game yesterday and absolutely love it. Already on mission 8 cos i can`t put it down, driving the wife crazy. I don`t find it sluggish at all, I changed the settings to speed up the reticule and I can`t complain one bit. Superb game looking forward to playing on live once I finish the single player mode.

what xbox 360 titles are you most wanting?

My list first I guess, maybe there are some games I am unaware of for you to enlighten me.

-Gears of war (obviously)

-lost planet (loved the demo)

-SC Double Agent

-superman returns

-Fear.

my tv is an hd up to 1080i CRT tv, and I am using component cables.

Xbox 360 picture problem...

The picture on screen when using my xbox 360 is 0.5 inches too far to the right, how can I fix this, really bugging me. The gameube had a screen altering function, I can`t find one on the 360, any ideas? Thanks!

Not so much American but just fanatically religious. Moving from London to the bible belt of the midwest you wouldn`t believe the crazy things I hear or see. I thought hollywood exagerrated the whole excessive christianity thing but it is not far from the truth. They are few and far between but I have met some truly excessive, highly religious but `archaic` people who`s views are excessive and unwilling to accept anything else other than the word of God. This is not necessarily a bad thing as long as their views do not interfere or put fear in others, which some unfortunately feel the need to do.

Season 5 of 24 is awesome!

Seen the first 4 episodes and what a cracking season so far! Hope it continues like this. Can`t wait till Monday for the next one. Silly that the UK doesn`t get it same time as USA, my sister is frantic about 24.

Occasionally, not often the game just stops and there is a horrible buzzing sound. No modding done to it.

My xbox seems to be crashing every so often, is this normal? It did it alot while playing far cry and crashes occasionally during need for speed most wanted.

How did you end up doing what you do for a living?

Having just moved to the USA and adjusting (poorly, for now), I have to find a new career, well when I am able to work which won`t be for another 3 months due to silly immigration laws. Well being bored out of my mind I was wondering how you ended up doing what you do for a living as some people fall into things and others have a plan that works out perfectly...I can`t even decide what I want to do yet and I am getting very nervous and yes scared. I am 26 and I have not had a proper career yet which makes me feel crappy for some reason, and my cv is just a load of temp jobs.

I guess after my ramblings all I am wondering is whether you ended up doing what you always wanted to do or thought you would do, or are just in a completely different job than you expected.

How many of you actually enjoy your job?

Here in the US I always leave 15 to 20% tip. Waiters/waitresses hardly get paid anything and rely on tips for their income. I won`t leave a tip if the service was appalling and that is the point. Someone is serving you and if they do a good job they should be rewarded. I tip my hairdresser as well because I just believe good service should be rewarded just as if I do a good job at work and I get a bonus then I feel rewarded for my efforts. If people don`t tip good service, good service will no longer exist, which is why I truly believe the service sector in America is second to none. Since I arrived in the USA I have had impeccable service and once I made a tiny comment that my fries were a bit cold and they made my main course complimentary, unbelieveable!

Already added tip to a bill is a bit cheeky and is very uncommon in America and American companies. When I was living in the UK this annoyed me as well, especially if the service was poor as I do not want to pay for something that was not up to standard.

At christmas back in the UK we always give the dustman, postman and milkman money for christmas just to say thank you, a tip is just a nice way to say thank you as well, and you only say thank you when you are grateful.

If the only reason you won`t get a 360 is due to worry of it crashing etc then you shouldn`t worry cos most of the crashing was due to overheating and bad ventilation. The only reason i would not get a 360 would be cos at the moment they aren`t really needed IMO and I am quite happy with my current generation consoles, prices will fall when the 360 is a necessity.

The DS wi fi adapter will only work with the DS from what I have read.

On top of all this having played Half life 2 on the xbox and call of duty 2 on the 360 the step up does seem a bit unworthwhile at the mo. King Kong had great lighting etc but nothing too drastic....it does seem like the launch games only have a clever sheen over them to improve clarity etc. This is the first time I haven`t bought a console at launch, I am chuffed that I resisted, I would be damn upset if my new shiny expensive console went cuplunk on me.

If I record a dvd and finalise the recording to play on another dvd player, can I still erase the disc and use it again?

My amp/receiver says 100W on the front, do I need to make sure the total W does not exceed 100W when I get 2 more speakers?

Surround sound question

I have just been given a surround sound system, av receiver and 3 speakers and sub. Do I need to buy 2 more speakers or can I use the tv speakers for the front sound. Is it unusual to not have 5 speakers, the person who gave it to me never used it and can`t remember how many speakers came with it, but we can only find the 3 and sub.

I have an Archos gmini400 and want to power it in my car. The archos car adapter is 5v output, but I don`t want to pay the price, so I was wondering can I use any old adapter as long as it is 5v output?

Mine does the same, I just flip the dvd player on its side (turn it so that the left side is vertical) while the disc loads. Once the movie comes on screen you can watch it as normal.

Do you think buying an xbox is a waste?

Having just moved to the USA I sold my xbox and games etc. A new xbox here is $150. An xbox 360 is around $500-600. With half life 2 coming out, as well as far cry staring me in the face and battlefield 2, battlefront 2 etc, etc I am having a hard time not buying one. But I feel I should wait and get a 360 and put the $150 towards it...ahhh! Should I buy an xbox? I am having serious FPS withdrawal symptoms :)

Great laugh! this comes with a rumble pack which slides into your GBA slot (in fact it is the same size as a GBA cart. The graphics are really good, but best of all is that altogether a great game.
