Page 1 of How often does your xbox crash?

My xbox seems to be crashing every so often, is this normal? It did it alot while playing far cry and crashes occasionally during need for speed most wanted.

Mine has crashed once or twice during the years ive had it and Im almost positive they were down to software issues rather than hardware.

Is your XBox well ventilated? Because it might be overheating. Failing that, your lens could be dirty and it could have trouble reading the games.

Never - at least to the best of my memory it`s never crashed.

Are you running any soft mods? How long are you playing it continuously before it crashes?

My PS2 does love to f*** up my playing experience by crashing at the worst times, though.


I traded in my entire collection of rare cheese to get you this petri dish.

Our x-box has been fine, never had problems (except when installing a mod chip for imported (R1) DVD`s).

Do you get the generic "dirty disc" style messages, or does it freeze up or give some other symptom.

Occasionally, not often the game just stops and there is a horrible buzzing sound. No modding done to it.
