    A Grand Day Out
Wallace like a nice bit of cheese with his crackers, so when this eccentric inventor finds his fridge empty and the local cornershop shut for the Bank Holiday, he is forced to look further afield for his cheddar. His faithful dog Gromit is used to his master`s flights of fancy but this time his ears prick up with excitement because our two plasticine heroes are about to blast off in their home made rocket on the ultimate day trip - Wallace and Gromit are off to the moon!

    The Wrong Trousers
This time it`s action and laughter all the way as our plasticine stars are plunged into a hilarious tale of skullduggery involving an extraordinary pair of automated trousers and a villianous penguin. Posing as an innocent lodger, the fiendish fish-eater sets about recruiting mild mannered Wallace as an unwitting accomplice to his dastardly plot - a diamond heist with a technically advanced, trouser-inspired difference. It is left to the faithful Gromit to turn detective and save the day as malice and mayhem culminate in a breathless train-top chase - around the sitting room!

    A Close Shave
Trade is booming for Wallace and Gromit`s Wash`n`Go window cleaning service andlove is in the air as Wallace falls for the owner of the local wool shop, the lovely Wendolene Ramsbottom. But Wallace has a new incentive - a Knit-O-Matic machine - and adventure looms: sheep are being rustled, wool is in short supply and Wendolene`s malevolent pooch is on the prowl...

I would have liked to review this DVD, as we bought it for our kids for Christmas. It locks up immediately in our Wharfedale 750. Has anyone else had problems, or do I have a faulty disc?

I have had the same problem — Wallace & Gromit will not come out to play with the Wharfdale! I thought it might be a faulty disk so returned it to Tesco but on test the disk played OK on a Philips player. Nevertheless, Tesco replaced the disk though they claimed to have no knowledge of any problem with the Wharfdale and this particular disk.

You can`t go wrong with this DVD.

Its quirky British Humour at its best, and anyone who hasn`t seen these characters must have been living on Vega (as the signals won`t have got there quite yet).

I can`t count the number of times I`ve watched this video. Mostly in short snatches. The episodes are just the right length to keep the kids quiet for while, just the right attention span to keep the 5 o`clock blues at bay for the under 5s.

Usually I put on the DVD, and go off and get some time out to do something necessary while the children are occupied. Then I wander into the room to check everything is going ok, to see two rapt faces. I`ll sit down, just for a second you understand, and before I know it, the credits are scrolling past.
Still, it has to be better than Pingu any day.

I don`t think I need describe the three Wallace and Gromit episodes, everyone must have seen them. And here they are all together in once conveniant package.

I have a feeling the quality of the video on "Grand day out" is not that good, but this may just be me knowing what a shoestring budget it was done on. You certainly notice the change in sound from 1 to 2.

I think you can feel the money kicking in as you go through the order, but the stories and the humour are good in all three. There is no clear favourite with the children, they swap between them on a whim. This says as much as anything else for the quality of the stories and portrayal.

There is an extra in the shape of a behind the scenes look at how Nick Park and the team works, but its so long ago since I last watched that I cant remember any details.

Buy it for your children, for visiting children, or just for yourself. Its delightful.
