just heard this on the radio, wow, what a shock, he was so funny. There was a show he did with John Richardson where they went travelling, it was so odd to see the "real" Sean Lock, not being a grumpy so and so like he is on 8 out of 10 cats etc

Oh no that is terrible news.

It was clear he'd been ill if you watched through the various series of 8 out of 10 cats, but I kind of got the impression he'd gotten over it.
