North-South divide in the United Kingdom

Sminty (Elite) posted this on Monday, 24th July 2006, 10:33

Some people debate that the is no such thing as the north-south divide but some claim that not only does it exist, but that it is expanding.

I was just wondering what the majority of views in here think about the north south divide? If you think the divide exists - where would you say it starts and stops?

Erm... how is it expanding? Is there some kind of giant chasm opening up across the middle of the country? ;)

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.
