RE: Poster Hangers- where to buy

I`ve had a few fly poster sized (150 x 100cm) ones framed, they had to use PVC glass as they`re so big. Absolute bargain at £45 each, they were done at a place near Blackpool. If you look around you might find somewhere that does them reasonably. Well worth it.

RE: Freeloader - can it play "copied" games?

Mike - not sure what they`re burnt on, it was usually our producer who handled that. I presume it`s some kind of special kit, but I could be wrong.

And I had a look at the free freeloader with the Cube magazine, it says it only lets you play Animal Crossing NTSC though :(

RE: Freeloader - can it play "copied" games?

We burnt the builds onto GC discs, which work with the NTSC devkits. Don`t think it would work on a "normal" NTSC cube though, so probably no chance of me ever playing it again :(

The game was BattleBots for THQ, one of about 20 products they canned due to their alleged financial difficulties. Bit of a shame, as we`d been working on it for about 16 months.. sigh. The company I work for is Creative Asylum

there`s some info about the game on our site.

Cheers for the replies :-p

Freeloader - can it play "copied" games?

Hi

One of the games I was working on was canned about a month from completion. I`ve managed to grab the last NTSC build we burnt to GC disc, will Freeloader let me play it on my PAL gamecube?

Cheers for any help,

Garf

RE: Manchester United - The Treble

Blimey, endearing image. Hope they don`t show that on Sky...

Utd fan from Manchester ;-)

RE: Gamecube Phantasy Star Online problems.

I had the same problem with one of those Datel 64mb memory cards, stopped working after a few weeks. Got a Nintendo official one, no problems with it several months down the line.

Shame I couldn`t magically keep my Dreamcast character for this version though... many, many happily wasted hours ;-)

RE: Amelie 11.99 R1 Delivered

Cheers very much, have ordered one, would be rude not to...

RE: Footballers` Wives - Thickies` Delight!

Blimey - Jim Morrison posting on here, Elvis posting in another thread... Do we have a Freddie Mercury anywhere? ;-)

Apologies, work must obviously be stressful for me today!

RE: Best TV theme ever?

Monkey - "The funkiest monkey there ever was.."

I mean, come on, he was born in an egg on a mountain top, you just can`t beat that!

Though "The Flumps" had a top tune too...

RE: Daredevil and fraggle rock questions

Not sure how you spell it, but the dog was called Sprockett.

Mis-spent youth, and all that. :-)

RE: sheep question?

Seems like a good opportunity to get a shameless plug in for my sheep site...

http://www.sheepemporium.com

Well, I did say it was a shameless plug ;-p

Young Frankenstein Special Ed. R2

Has anyone got a copy of the aforementioned film? Mine arrived from Play today, but hasn`t got a booklet thing inside - should it have one?

Cheers,

Garf

RE: Audrey Hepburn Box Set

Well it arrived this morning, looks like quite a nice DVD box set, especially for that price. Maybe persistance and constant emailing pays off after all...

RE: Audrey Hepburn Box Set

Got an email off them this morning, 12 days after first emailing them and emailing several times since:

"I can confirm that it is the DVD box set and that the order is in
picking and should be with you shortly."

I presume they mean it`s in "packing"...

So hopefully it should be the DVD set at the price ordered, I`ll believe it when I see it...

RE: Audrey Hepburn Box Set

Remind me never to order from these again.

As far as I can tell (from checking other sites on the net), the DVD box set features 4 films, and the video version features 5 films. As the set from Jungle supposedly has 5 films, it would seem that it`s the video box set and not the DVD one which I ordered.

Been trying to call their "customer care line" (on hold for nearly an hour with no response) and 8 days and counting for them to reply to my email.

Worst customer service ever. It`d better be the DVD box set that gets delivered, as I don`t see why I should pay the postage to send something back that I didn`t order in the first place...

RE: another surround sound question...

Thanks Richard, I`ll have a look at the connections on the back tonight and buy accordingly :)

Cheers again for your help,

Garf

another surround sound question...

Hi, I`ve got an LG3200 and was looking at getting a fairly cheap surround sound kit to go with it.

From what I can tell from the LG site (and all this tech talk goes right over my head) it has Dolby Digital/MPEG-2/DTS Digital Output but doesn`t mention a "decoder"? Unless it`s one and the same thing..

Anyway, I was looking at maybe getting one of the JBL kits from Currys as mentioned in the bargain forum (assuming there`s any left) - would this work with the LG or would I need to buy anything else to go with it?Alternatively I was also looking at the Bush Pro 300, bit cheaper but I`m not after earth-shattering quality!

If anyone can give a complete novice some help, it`d be well appreciated :)

Cheers,

Garf

RE: ntl. good? or bad? whats the cost

Probably not much help in making your mind up, but the interactive TV stuff on NTL takes ages to come up, sometimes not at all, meaning you have to switch the damned thing off and on every now and then. The program listings aren`t too helpful either, as they tend to freeze whenever you check whats on a few hours ahead. My mate has Sky and that seems much better on those points, so I`m considering swapping once I find out more about prices.

RE: What the hell is wrong with play? Last time i use them i think

Had mine on order since 6th July - obviously nearly 3 months on pre-order isn`t enough time for them to make sure I get my copy. Still waiting (order is currently "processing"). Not impressed.

RE: cheapest field of dreams please.

Hi Dicanio

Can`t seem to find this particularly cheap anywhere, but Play247 do the R1 for £17.99 and current R2 for £14.99

The existing R2 DVD doesn`t have any of the extra features of the R1 version, but there is a new R2 one due out some time in September which seems to have all the stuff that`s on the R1 version - if you like the film, the extra features are pretty interesting and well worth it

RE: LG3200 DVD player - £100 from Woolies

Cheers Clayts, I was gutted to miss out on the Proline offer they did a few weeks back, now I`ve finally got a DVD player to watch all the bargains I`ve picked up from this forum on! ;-)

RE: Proline DVD player £60

The site now says "back in stock soon" but when I tried to order one by phone, the guy said this was an error and they wouldn`t be getting any more in stock... doh!
