RE: Parent who put their newborn`s name right on ebay gets burned!!

There are some very funny stories on this site such as......

PC Performs Illegal Operation
4/29/2001
Raleigh, North Carolina---In a daring pre-dawn raid, FBI and ATF agents stormed the house of Roger Simpson`s computer, which was in the act of performing an illegal operation.

"This raid and arrest of Mr. Simpson`s personal computer has been the result of a year long investigation," explained FBI agent Tim Dathers. "We were aware of the computer`s illegal operations for over a year. In the past year, the personal computer was involved in over a thousand illegal operations"
According to sources within the FBI, the computer, alias Big Daddy, was actually the head of a very powerful crime syndicate (see graphic). Big Daddy`s illicit pursuits include but are not limited to racketeering, prostitution, and illegal drugs. Big Daddy also reportedly has strong ties with the Sami crime family in New York City.
"Man, that Big Daddy has his hands in some serious s***," said an inside source who wished to remain anonymous. "He had the drugs, the women, the numbers. And everybody knew not to mess with him, because he is a bad, bad man. Once some punks tried to take over the heroin racket and Big Daddy went nuts. He f***ing erased them. There is no record of their existence anymore. That`s some scary crap."
The raid mystified Big Daddy`s owner, Roger Simpson. "Look, man, all I know is I left my computer on overnight to defrag. The next thing I know there is tear gas and these storm troopers coming in with guns. My computer has done nothing wrong."
Dathers responded, "Perhaps that is what Mr. Simpson believes, but we have evidence to the contrary. In fact, we have transcripts between Mr. Simpson and DELL Tech Support discussing his problem with his computer performing `illegal operations`."
Transcript
Simpson: Hello, is this technical support?
Dell: Yes, sir, how can I help you?
Simpson: Yes, I`m having some problems with the computer I bought.
Dell: What kind of problems sir?
Simpson: Well, my computer crashes a lot. I`ll be running Internet Explorer or Real Audio Player when all of sudden this error screen will come on.
Dell: uhuh
Simpson: And it says, "performed an illegal operation" and then the whole damn thing seizes up.
Dell: Well, sir, that really isn`t a problem.
Simpson: It`s not?
Dell: No. Furthermore you should not discuss this with anyone. This never happened.
Simpson: But I lose my-
Dell: LOOK ASSHOLE, it`s your f***ing life, okay. If you want to p*** it away, keep on talking. IT NEVER HAPPENED. Remember that or face the consequences. Got it, s***head?
End of call.
Dathers noted how "sad" it was when innocent consumers are forced to comply with organized crime. He hopes that Simpson cooperates with the ongoing investigation.
Ex-FBI against Marshall Daniels noted that the investigation wouldn`t stop here. "Getting Big Daddy was a big coup for the agency, but they won`t stop there. This is part of a larger conspiracy. We`re traveling through uncharted waters.
Simpson`s lawyer released a statement stating that his client was very sorry for any trouble his computer may have cause unbeknownst to him. Also, Simpson wanted to note that all those jpgs on his computer were not his but were downloaded by his roommate. Stated Simpson, "I`m not into that stuff. Everyone who knows me knows that Roger Simpson is not a criminal nor a hardcore porn freak."

RE: cheap criterions

Subject: StarDVDs Site Now Open

Well it took 24 hours longer than we planned, and as always there are some
things still not up that we will add over the next day or so, but the vast
majority is working and most importantly we can take orders :)

All our opening offers are up on the site with the May Only Price tag. Doing
a search for May Only should bring up all the titles except Superman which
is £12.99 as standard. There are 600 titles in the R1 database, alot of
titles ready for pre order and some hardware and accesories up, so browse
and have fun.

All the stock of our opening offers are still in the US, you can`t bring
2000 DVDs into the country without raisning suspicions and we didn`t want to
be closed down before got started. I know alot of you are probably itching
to get hold of Spartacus and Superman etc as they are already released, but
we should be able to get them to you within a week. I believe honesty is the
best policy and would rather you know the stock situation than not.

Happy Shopping.

RE: Stardvds - Have yours arrived???

The day they opened, I had a few items reserved from the special prices they offered to the dvd forums. Did`t order them though due to the wait, I thought I`d see what the general opinion was of their service first.

RE: Stardvds - Have yours arrived???

They sent me a mail saying all there stock was still in the states/canada and first orders would take two weeks.

RE: A Cracking Little Movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was a bloody good film and would say it is well worth buying. Check out `In Dreams` as well another underated film.

RE: After a home cinema system around £200 can anyone recommend one?

If it`s the 6090 reciever then the quality is extremly good for £200 notes.

Rental dvd.

http://www.in-movies.co.uk/dvd/main.php

£15 a month and you can rent as many dvds as you want. Plus a free dvd for joining, It seems like a good deal minimum membership is three months.

Better than play?

Take a look at these two links, they are not traiding yet but due to start 1st May. Should be worth keeping an eye on.

RE: 3 for £25 @ Comet!!

0845 600 7002 and you can order them over the phone or reserve copies at a local store. P&P is about £3 or so.

RE: `All` Region DVDs

They are Laser Disk transfers.

RE: BEATLES MP3

Must be more than one version, mine is all mp3 files and plays fine on my scan.

Cheers,

RE: MAGNOLIA....AGONY OR WHAT ?

I think Magnolia is a real masterpiece, Tom Cruise is superb. Go is quite a good film as well, a little bit more mainstream but enjoyable all the same.

Cheers,

RE: DVD ON PS2?

Almost all PS2 games are on cd.

RE: An

Plays fine on my scan, and a bloody good disk it is too. Maybe a faulty disk?

RE: Where is the CHEAPEST place to get CTHD???

Let me guess, it`s reigon 0 and has dd150 or dd155 printed on the cd? It`s a copy, a very good copy but still a copy. Don`t pay anymore than a few quid for it.

RE: Bad Experiences/Incompetent Retailers...name and shame time!

Ah, you must be talking about Movietyme.

Cheers,

RE: HMV April DVD Sale

Some very good offers here, how much is postage though?

Cheers,

RE: crouching tiger problem - help?

This sounds like you have a Silver Copy of the film, directors commentary and other features are normaly dropped to fit it on a single sided disk. Where did you get it from?

Cheers,

RE: Widescreen

I`ve been looking at both of these TV`s and can honestly say that the Toshiba has the better picture (much better contrast and a sharper looking picture.) Save yourself the cash and get the Tosh.

As for the SD100E, playing RCE depends on the mod chip that`s fitted. Give the people you bought it from a shout.

Cheers,

RE: region 1 bargains

Is this company any good? How long does stuff take to arrive?

Cheers,

RE: TV/SKY sound thru AMP - connection advice required please.

Sounds like you need to change the mode from stereo to surround sound on your amp.

Cheers,
