RE: [VIDEO] Doctor Who 2014
Actually he was pretty good in Law & Order UK, he was just not helped by the fact the scripts were rehashed from the US series rather than new...

Looks like the new series may be an entirely different beast.

Maybe that's the reason, maybe it isn't.
Would be nice to live in a world where anything other than a white male with a white attractive female companion didn't have people accusing it of being politically correct though, as if that could be the only reason. :/
Is it so bad for it to be trying to be different?

I agree, I'd love for Idris Elba to be a moody Doctor one day and I really think we still don't see enough leads in TV other than white actors or actresses or any ethnicity...
I used to love watching David Yip, for example, in the Chinese Detective (that's going back some...).
It rankles with me actually that the BBC who preach diversity until the cows come home doesn't take a lead in this.

Well that was just a fantastic episode to say farewell to Capaldi, he was magnificent and for me got better every episode and was made for the role, Bradley nailed the original doctor and it was great to see Bill who rapidly became one of my favourite companions, her interactions with the 1st doctor were priceless as was Capaldis trying to keep him from being so gloriously politically incorrect :), bit disappointed with the new doctors entrance but hopefully she will grow into the role. it was a really moving episode in many ways and its going to take some cracking writing and acting to keep up with Capaldi .
Ah the wonders of iPlayer.
Everyone else abed, no interruptions.
I started the episode with a huge smile.
The episode has ended, the smile hasn't.
Amen to everything mbilko said.
