What services do you use?
Netflix are apparently losing subscribers and are planning to tighten up on password sharing.
Thinking about it I don't often use Netflix lately, Daughters account, same address.
I spend much more time on Amazon or Disney.
Never bothered with Apple, even though there's one or two things I would like, as you'd have to be on footballers wages to subscribe to every service.

iPlayer, YouTube, and I used to use Crunchyroll. Yep, still only willing to pay for a licence fee and discs.

I think in order of how much I watch on them...
- YouTube
- Netflix
- Amazon Prime
I would pay for YT to be without ads if they actually had a sensible monthly price instead of pretending they pay for the shows production in the same way as the other streamers and charging more than all of them.
I could probably save money on Netflix by pausing it every now and again as I seem to sometimes not watch it for a month.

I use my virgin tv box to watch normals tv, i don't pay for any extra channels, so basically just free view.
On the PS4 I use the 4od and iplayer apps to watch things that I've missed when broadcast originally, catching up on a couple of critically acclaimed shows.
the few other shows I watch, I err, "borrow" from my internet "friends" as a an old colleague used to call it ;)
As you say, to watch everything would cost a fortune, and "ain't nobody got time for that".
I very rarely watch anything longer than 10-15 mins on you tube

I don't seem to get ads on YouTube.
Only have Adblock plus and Privacy Badger running.

Are the various services I use most. I do actually drop in and out of Netflix but in the last couple of years (for fairly inevitable reasons) I've watched it a lot more regularly. I'd do the same with Amazon but pay yearly.
I manage to piggyback on some accounts even though we don't share the same address.
