Front-runner appears to be Liz Truss...
At least you can be thankful that the Conservatives are pretty ruthless about defenestration when pushed too far, even if it is self-serving - which of course it is...

Agreed. Not Sunak and certainly not Gove. Hunt an outside bet.
Saw a little snippet of her when asked about the No.10 parties and (with a bit of a smirk) she said something like "I was doing trade missions at the time, I didn't go to any parties" the subtext being 'nothing to do with me, I was diligently doing my job for the country' but also it wasn't remotely trying to defend the party goers or indeed the PM 'if they are going to p*** about, it's on them'.
I've seen a couple of high ranking tories say pretty much "we have to believe the PM when he says he didn't go to any parties because if it were found he did go, he would be guilty of lying at the despatch box and would have to resign and that isn't possible." Pretty cold as threats go.
The No. 10 flat refurb money issue isn't going away either. This is likely to blow up in the coming weeks.
The one thing that could save Johnson right now is omicron astroturfing the news cycle. Looks like it's going to be serious.

As people start to believe that the Omicron reaction is overblown (based on evidence coming from S.Africa), the media and Labour will conveniently forget they are all calling for lockdown and the house of cards will come crashing down.
I just can't help wondering if things would have different if he hadn't met Carrie...

Getting Adrian Dunbar to narrate this (unless it was a particularly good mimic) was the extra touch of genius to this.
