Camelot have introduced a new game. Get a National Lottery account, and if you are one of the lucky ones, you'll lose everything.

Massive increase in Camelot profits of 122% ugres MP's review as good causes decline....

(No wonder profits are on the increase due to lack of any decent wins due to higher odds and also the new win payout structure of 5 balls and bonus and below giving out very poor wins)

Yet another rule change in the lottery to give Camalot even more profit....

The Lotto which now has a crazy high odds chance of winning due to the increased number of balls, has now changed the rules again, by removing the Lotto raffle.

This used to give you the additional chance of winning...
1 prize of 1 million
20 prizes of 20,000
So thats 1.4 million pounds now scrubbed from each draw.

The only decent change has been to make the 5 balls and bonus ball now 1 million, instead of the measily 64,000. But usually this does not come up often, so Camalot will be coining it in yet again.

Getting 3 balls (very difficult now due to the odds) will give £30 instead of £25.

Like thousands of others, i gave up the Lotto a while back, and now put my gambling money on the postcode lottery, where the odds are better and prizes seem a lot higher than they used to be. (due to having more punters, hence more money in the pot).

In fact the postcode lottery is hammering out TV adverts now, as most likely the punters will be leaving the lotto in droves, with this latest change.

The fact people enter it at all shows they don't understand the odds so I doubt they'll care about the change in them, only the thought of hitting the jackpot.

I play it every week, it's only a few quid, I know fully well, I've extremely unlikely to win big, but on those rare occasions I get an email to say I've been lucky, it gives me a moment of joy :) I've won a tenner a few times, 50, 60quid a few times, I'm certainly down on what I've spent over the years, but it's not as if I'm not feeding the family by spending money on it.

i remember at an old job in the risk register they put down lottery, just in case the syndicate won! And another they said that if they wanted to run a syndicate they couldn't have everyone from same team, so there had to be several syndicates with teams split up between them.

Nobody plays it for the smaller amounts but for the life changing jackpots.
The raffle was just an annoying nonsense, a colour and eight numbers!
FFS Even getting the right colour was a chuffing miracle.

Allwyn will take control of the National Lottery from Camelot on February 1, 2024. Allwyn did say they would lower the price of a lottery ticket from £2 to £1, but according to the news this will not be immediate.

I wonder if they will change the odds for the better and give better lower prizes? likely not. Most I ever won in all these years is £250.
