What are they, should you worry about them?

I was told by my optician that if you have more floaters than average, which I do, then there is an increased likelihood of a detached retina in later life.

While we are on the subject of Opticians Why haven't they come up with 3D prescription glasses rather this situation of wearing two pairs of glasses at the cinema? Don't mention contact lenses because it not an option on the table!

Eye Gripping Lake District Chernobyl Sheep

bandicoot (Elite) posted this on Friday, 24th January 2014, 19:49

The worst effect we ever had on my wife and I eyes was on a Lake District holiday.

We came across these gigantic sheep monstrosties in a field during a walk, one even had a massive leather harness on it, their faces were like distorted, and we decided to try and give them a wide berth

Unfortunately they started following us at speed, the faster we moved, they kept up, and by the time we got to the other side of the field, I had to leap over the fence and grab the wife and pull her over by her pullover.

Anyway, next day I had this horrible floater in my eye, but it did not float, it was firmly attached to my eye, rooted in there, and the wife had the same to a lesser extent as it was smaller.

It took nearly six months for this thing to dissolve out of my eyeball, whatever it was, and the wifes took three months. Yuk!

We assumed it was from these weird sheep, so now when crossing fields in the lakes we always wear wrapround sunglasses, to prevent biological farming warfare coming from the fields and attacking our eyeballs

Suffered with this all of a sudden a couple of years ago one day...ended at the eye hospital Manchester. Saw three docs and 3 hours later was diagnosed with Posterior Vitreous  Detachment (PVD)
Nothing you can do about it....though was more likely to suffer from a detached retina in later life.
Your brain gets used to it over time...it's only really bad when its a bright sunny day (not often)

Which raises the burning question.
Do the arms of the sunglasses go over or under the tin foil hat.
