After he sues them for common assault he won`t have to worry about buying tickets again

Unless the guy who threw him off the train was in fact, a cop (on or off duty) who was in fact doing his civic duty.
And wonder how the fare-dodging scrote would react if in return Scotrail sued him for non payment of fare, obtaining services by deception, fraud and causing delay to scheduled services....?

This is not just specific to Scotland.

When I was on the old trains on the London to Brighton track, I once saw a guy run and jump in though the small open window at the top of a moving off train, so he did not miss catching it.

He was stuck half in and half out as the train got up to speed, and he just missed getting his legs chopped on a signal post.

He had both hands balenced on the top the chairs, and a ticket collector who was standing in the compartment, thankfully ran foward and pulled him inside.

At the next train station he was booted off by the ticket collector and left to get the next train an hour later, and warned that he got off lightly considering he could have lost his legs or be rightfully prosecuted.

The kid was a dick-head, the big guy a bully. The guard did not handle it at all well. He should have contacted the rail police etc to apprehend the kid at the next stop. My first thoughts were, it was assault, whether a police officer or not in spite of Jimbo`s comments. (this is as shown in the video). This was backed up by a lawyer on radio 5 last night. The kids parents are thinking of pressing assault charges now. However if I were on the train I would have clapped as well.

Have to agree with Paull, I`d have called in the Transport police rather than let it escalte to something like that...Wouldn`t have liked it if I`d been on the train either, wouldv`ve scared me :(
