Christmas TV Opinions

Not watched much of it yet, but felt the need to share my continued disappointment at The Royale Family specials. Last year`s I felt was very unfunny and right into the realms of self parody, this year`s slightly better but still not a patch on the double bill where nana died.

I don`t think it`s the writing, or the acting, though some things seem a bit odd like Joe next door never spoke at all and now you can`t shut the guy up, maybe it`s the pace (seems much faster than it used to be), or maybe there are just only so many times you can paint Denise as the worst parent in the world before it starts to become predictable. Shrug. :/

What`s Come Fly With Me like? Did anyone watch that?

Like you`d expect...Little Britain in an airport. Parts were funny.

I really enjoyed the One Ronnie though.
The Harry Enfield grocer`s sketch was brilliant.

I thought that was the only funny bit in it!!

Jokes about naming your son TJO 112Y so he can have a personalised number plate and the crossword writer being buried 4 down, 3 across are even older than Ronnie himself!

Live Aid stuff on BBC 2 tonight was fantastic..

we really enjoyed Come Fly With Me, as Miles says Little Britain in an airport, which was fine by us.

8/10 Cats Christmas Special was good, even more than usual, the questions seemed liek an excuse for Sean Lock and Jimmy Carr to be on TV with Jack Dee as a Christmas bonus! Christopher Biggins had some excellent moments to!

Buzzcocks didn`t have a Christmas special as such, but Josh Groban was a great host, music isn`t my cup of tea, but he`s been a panelist before, and unlike many guests he gets the show. Juliete Lewis last week was funny, `cos she didn`t have a clue what was going on!

Ruth Jones show was poor, seemed like an excuse to put her on tv `cos she`s popular, few funny moments due to the guests.

we haven`t seen Dr Who or Royale Family yet, but really enjoyed last year`s Royale Family Christmas special.

Not surprised no one mentioned the doctor who special, trully awful for me, any excuse to get the opera chick to sing the same song what,,,4 or 5 times, way ott doc again with the flying fish/shark, silly premise and not enough of the one good thing the show has, the assistant :(

Had always looked forward to the Christmas Doctor Who special, but last years was bad and this years not that much better.

Poirot `Murder on the Orient Express` on the other hand was brilliant, fantastic acting, very dark and broody, Trying to figure out the murder was intreging, and the end was very un- poirot like, without dialogue, but with a lot of emotion.

Deserved an Oscar for this one !

Dr Who - Thought was s***e.
Royle Family - Was Ok - preferred last years when they went to a caravan
Come Fly With Me - OK for a one off I reckon.
Top Gear - Some good bits and kinda guessed who Baby Jesus was.
Live Aid stuff - Really enjoyed that. Never new about Robert Plant having a go at Phil Collins - though I`d have done the same!

I have to say this years Christmas TV has been awful, and what little thats been on that Ive wanted to watch has been on a constant loop, every bloody programme has been repeated 4 or 5 times over the space of the last few days, its been like Grounhog day...

Dr who was awful, probably the worst episode Ive seen
Come fly with me was ok, again, Little Britain in an airport
I enjoyed `when Harvey met Bob` and the Live Aid doc
Buzzcocks/8 out of 10 cats/Top Gear were up to their usual standard and yeah it was obvious who the lil baby jeebus was gonna be
Charlie Brookers 2010 wipe was good last night, about the only thing worth watching all day

I feel sorry for the folks who rushed out and bought a new huge telly in the sales cos theres sod all on worth watching, hope they have a good supply of DVD`s cos thats all Ive been doing

I haven`t watched a great deal but hoped for a lot better of The One Ronnie after the Blackberry sketch they released but thet proved to be it really. Pretty average fare with celebrity faces thrown in,

Snaps

Every Third Car

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
