I wouldn't really say it came out of nowhere. It won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, plus about a million other awards as well since then.

๐Ÿ˜‚ oh please I am not deaf , but my left ear ๐Ÿ‘‚ has a ringing thing going on for years lol omg ๐Ÿ˜ณ I would look like that after two hours reading subtitles and trying to keep up with the actors movements.

I'm not talking about the film, I'm talking about the change in direction for the Academy.

Yes I have notice I think ๐Ÿค” for what I notice in the British awards one night itโ€™s
A more serious award ceremony and maybe the Americans wanted to make some changes or testing to see their ratings and see what happens as far as opinions.

It would be good if we see more foreign films being nominated, and if we can nominate foreign films then let's see foreign actors in the mix as well as all the other categories.

It's not the only film industry by any means, but a lot of my favourite films over the last couple of decades have been Asian...

Im Hoping the director won't be paid to do the obligatory US version anytime soon as I agree with him saying its a very Korean movie.....

They already announced the US version - a limited HBO series, potentially starring Mark Ruffalo.

Bong Joon Ho is onboard with the idea:

Quote:
In interviews during the final phase of the Oscar campaign Bong explained that the series, likely six hours in length, will not be a straight remake of the film but will include a lot of additional material and stories he had developed for Parasite that could not fit into a two-hour movie.

the blu ray has been sat on the shelf in its cellophane for ages (Christmas or birthday present for the missus last yearย  or year before?)

anyway, today she decided we should watch it, was very different from what I was expecting, glad I hadn't read the back of box which gave a bit more away than what little I knew.

We both really really liked it, the suspense, and the black comedy elements of it.

If you like Inside Number 9 you'd probably enjoy it :)
