Best film of the year!?!

555 (Elite) posted this on Monday, 8th December 2003, 09:37

as we are getting ever closer to the end of the year, whats the best cinema release this year then?

There are many contenders in my book, i saw a surprising amount of 9/10 movies this year which is quite rare:
The Hunted (not as good 2nd time),
Bad Boys 2 (nearly 10 material!),
Pirates of the carribean (again not as good, but Depp is still hilarious)
Identity (very clever movie, great end twist)
Shanghai Knights (Best fights for a USA Chan movie)
Narc (didnt see at cine, so not sure if was 2002 but just had to give a mension, pure CLASS!)

I think my winner is though BAD BOYS 2, this film was just class. Hilarious, great action, John Woo style dual pistols & a Ferrari 575M, what more can i ask for, ok not the best plot ever but you dont watch a film like this for the plot, probably 10/10 material.

so come on give me your opinions! plz
You say pyscho like its a bad thing

Kill Bill or Mystic River.... but that`ll change next Wednesday....

Expect the worst and you won`t be disappointed!

Have to say I really enjoyed Seabiscuit and Finding Nemo as well as Pirates ofthe Caribbean.

I Imagine LOTR:ROTK will top my list but those three are running close behind.

So far I think only Kill Bill has managed to live up to the hype this year though ROTK will almost certainly follow in it`s footsteps...

I don`t know, I`ve got a feeling it will be Return of the King. I`ve seen over 150 films in the cinema this year, so there is a big selection to choose from. Highlight:

City Of God (just brilliant on every level)
X2 (Great sequel to a great film)
Hulk (Great film, and I now like the ending - beautiful)
Kill Bill Vol. 1 (Brilliant piece of trash)
Sympathy For Mr Vengeance (Great film, disturbing, funny, tragic, violent)
Belleville Rendevous (Brilliant French animated feature)

Ok, that`s only a small selection, but I really enjoyed loads of films this year.

Potc, yep, finding nemo, yep. Dreamcatcher was brilliant, but Then there`s the disappointments.

LXG was abysmal, and Bad boys 2 was purile

Dreamcatcher was one of my least favourites I would say, as many Stephen King films seem to be. :(

Anyway, my favourite is definitely Kill Bill!

Punch-Drunk Love for me. I know it was released in 2002 in the States, but it was Feb 2003 here. I also enjoyed X-Men 2 and The Matrix Reloaded, although Revolutions was a disappointment. POTC was also a good laugh.
