RE: Samsung DVD811

Hi there.

I`m very happy with my 811. It does everything it`s supposed to, it does even play CD-RW`s even if the manual says that it can`t.
The Remote Hack works witout any problems at all, it doesn`t remove(?) the firmware. Are you maybe thinking of the macrovision? If so, the hack does not disable macrovision. =(
When I first got my 811 it didn`t play music CD`s at all and it skipped all the time on DVD`s. It showed up to be a defect laser. Then the dealer took care of it and the laser was changed. After this service there`s not been any problems at all with the player. It even play`s back a damaged DVD, "Perfect Storm", which doesn`t play back on the owner`s JVC DVD-player.
Hope you`ll be just as pleased as I am!

RE: Samsung DVD611 hack dont disables macro on my player !!!!

Sorry, but I really don`t think it`s supposed to either.
As far as I know, the only players possible to disable macrovision on is the old ones. The 709 & 909 models. I might be wrong, but I don`t think so.

Samsung DVD811/909, firmware & macro.

Hi
Just an idea, or maybe it`s a question. Anyhow I`m wondering about if what will happen if I take the firmware-`prom from a 909(which disables macro) and place it in a 811? Will anything be damaged, will this be in any help at all? If I took the 811`s `prom and placed it in the 909, would this move affect anything?
If you`ve tried any of this, or have a theory about it, please respond.

Samsung 907, need info/help.

Hi
As I`m about to buy a 907(very cheap) I need some advice.
What can this machine do? Is it easy to region-hack? Will macro get disabled? What`s the latest and best(?) firmware version.
Will it play VCD`s? What about CD-R and CD-RW`s?
I simply need to hear your opinion and experiences regarding this player.

Havar.

RE: Samsung DVD 611 hack

Hi
Did you proceed the hack even if you couldn`t see any 2-digit, or did you quit when it didn`t show up?
If you did stop, try again and complete the hack.
By the way, you did choose language after the coldstart?

RE: Samsung DVD-611

Multi-Region Hacks, under INFO to the left. You`ll find all you need there.
I guess you ment how to make it possible to play region 1 films?

Samsung DVD/Thomson remote?

Hi. I`ve got a Samsung DVD-player(811) and a Thomson VCR.
Just an idea, as long as Thomson and Samsung DVD`s basically are the same, and my VCR remote can control Thomson`s DVD players as well as the VCR itself, my question is:
Is there anything I can do to "hack" my Samsung, or in any other ways make it possible to use my Thomson remote to control it?
Will it help if I got my hands on a Thomson eeprom?
Please help, if you can. Thanx in advance!

RCE -The Patriot (R1 & R2?)

Hi
Just wanted to know if both R1 and R2 films are "infected" by RCE?

Dantax DVD-1500,remote hack?

If you know any hack`s for this player or can tell me where to find it, it would`ve been great.

RE: Skipping on Samsung/Thomson

Thanx Wolfman. Did you manage to perform the Thomson hack on your player, and if so, any problems regarding RCE?

Skipping on Samsung/Thomson

As I`m planning on buying a Samsung 811 or a Thomson 4500 before christmas I really need some advice, the thing is that there`s a rumour going, telling that these players tend to skip on even brand new DVD`s.
If you have one of these players please share your experiences with me/us.

Skipping on Samsung/Thomson?

Is there anyone out there having some experience regarding skipping on Samsung and Thomson DVD-players.
The thing is that I`ve heard a rumour saying that they tend to skip on DVD`s who are perfectly OK.
Really need some advice fast as I`m planning on buying a Samsung 811 or a Thomson 4500 before christmas.

Skipping on Samsung & Thomson

I know this isn`t hack related, but I really need some help before I go to the shop. As I`m planning to buy either a Samsung 811 or a Thomson 4500 I really need to know if it is something to it, the rumour saying that both these players seems to skip on brand new DVD`s and that they also don`t play Mp3 files as good as they ought to.
Also, can anyone confirm that this two players really are the same thing, except from the chassis/looks of course.

RE: Modified Samsung 511 hach, for all those who tried the regular 38767 hack...

Hi!
The easiest way I can think of, in order to find out if this hack disables macro is simply to loop the signal through your VCR.
If the picture still is OK, the macro is disabeled.

Let us know what you find out.(Needless to say?)

RE: Samsung/Thomson hacks. I`m confused, please help.

Thanks a lot! That`s all I need to know.

Samsung/Thomson hacks. I`m confused, please help.

Can anyone tell me if the Thomson 3300 hack is possible to perform on a Samsung 611 or 811 in order to get the player mulitregion?
When I read the hack-list I found out that the Samsung 709 hack only works for one movie, and when I read the Thomson hack it says that this hack also goes for the Samsung players and that this hack will make the player multi!!?
I simply don`t get it. If the Thomson hack works for both Thomson and Samsung, why bother performing the Samsung hack? Unless it is to get rid off the macro in order to copy a movie.
This again leads me into wondering about if it`s possible to perform the 709 hack on a Thomson in order to get rid of the macro.

Finally, if you guys had the opportunity to get either a 811 or a 4200 paying the same amount, which one would you buy, and why?

Thanx for all possible help!/ Takk for all mulig hjelp!

RE: Thomson 4200, a few questions.

Thanx a lot for your info Mike. Do you know if one can control a Thomson DVD with a Samsung remote, and opposite?
And another thing, the Thomson DVD have two scart`s, the Samsung only one. Do you know any other differences?

RE: Thomson 4200, a few questions.

Regarding facts,
I live in Norway and the standard over here is PAL, so therefor it would have been OK to know if it will convert NTSC(Sone1) into PAL(Sone2).
At least 50% of the TV-sets will not be able to "swallow" the NTSC-signals.
Regarding The Patriot, I`ve heard that there`s some kind of scrambling/encoding making it impossible to watch on certain region-modified players.
Maybe this goes for "The Abyss" as well?

Thomson 4200, a few questions.

Will the macro disappear perf. the Thomson hack?
Can this player convert NTSC into PAL?
Are the two scart`s fully compatible with RGB-signals?
Will it play The Patriot after hacked into multiregion?
Anything else I should know before I go ahead buying a 4200 and go hack frenzy?

Thanx in advance/Tusen takk

RE: Radionette RN-3100E

Hi Henrik!
May I ask which remote you were using to perform this hack, the original Radionette or the AIWA remote?
Will the makrovision be removed using this hack?
Thanx in advance, Tusen takk!
