Hi,

Does anyone know if the Remote Hack does actually remove the Firmware. The hack on this site suggests it does only I have seen conflicting remarks stating it does not.

Can anyone who has one of these models let me know for sure?

By the way if anyone has one of these and can tell me what they think, I would appreciate it.

I`m very happy with my 811. It does everything it`s supposed to, it does even play CD-RW`s even if the manual says that it can`t.
The Remote Hack works witout any problems at all, it doesn`t remove(?) the firmware. Are you maybe thinking of the macrovision? If so, the hack does not disable macrovision. =(
When I first got my 811 it didn`t play music CD`s at all and it skipped all the time on DVD`s. It showed up to be a defect laser. Then the dealer took care of it and the laser was changed. After this service there`s not been any problems at all with the player. It even play`s back a damaged DVD, "Perfect Storm", which doesn`t play back on the owner`s JVC DVD-player.
