Page 1 of Samsung 907, need info/help.

As I`m about to buy a 907(very cheap) I need some advice.
What can this machine do? Is it easy to region-hack? Will macro get disabled? What`s the latest and best(?) firmware version.
Will it play VCD`s? What about CD-R and CD-RW`s?
I simply need to hear your opinion and experiences regarding this player.

The 907 is very easy to region-hack (the info should be on the DVD Reviewer site - look for the Samsung 707 hack, which is the same for the 907). I can`t remember if it disables Macrovision or not.

I don`t know what the latest firmware version is - I have version 2.21 on my site, but there are probably versions newer than this. AFAICR the 907does play VCDs, but definitely does not support CD-Rs and CD-RWs.

Be warned - the 907 has rather a lot of problems with certain discs, such as The Matrix, which weren`t fully rectified by later firmware versions. I don`t think it handles seamless branching properly either. You should audition the player thoroughly before committing yourself.
