Help finding a program to re-size lots of photo`s in one go

pat-w (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 10th November 2009, 20:58

I`ve just ordered my sister a LCD photo frame for Christmas.
On my XP desktop PC & netbook I have a Microsoft XP powertoy that resizes photo`s.
It would be perfect for my sister, as its very easy to use.
The problem is, it doesn`t work in Vista. (her laptop is a Vista model)
Does anyone know of a simple batch resizing program, as simple as possible to use?
I`d rather it was free, but I`ll buy it if need be.
Thanks
:)

I`m sure I`ve used http://www.irfanview.com/ to do that.

Second `vote` for XNView, have been using that for years to resize photos in batches.

Google`s Picasa will easily batch resize too.

I`ve been using PIX Resizer for a while now. Very easy to use, just tell it where the photos are, and where you want to save them (I usually make a new folder first). Pick what size you want them to be and it`s away.

I use FastStone all the while for resizing now, fantastic bit of software (does loads of other stuff as well, including batch orientating based on EXIF data)

At the same time as resizing, you can rename and move to another folder too.

The windows powertoy does horrible things to colours in photos !
