"How dare they pick on something which was clearly there because the posh kids do it whilst excluding equally dangerous/not dangerous things that the not-posh-kids do."
Yes, how dare they:
https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/update-on-new-social-distancing-rules
"Nobody should meet socially in groups of more than 6 – and if you do, you will be breaking the law.
This will apply in any setting, indoors or outdoors, at home or in the pub.
It replaces both the existing ban on gatherings of more than 30 and the current guidance on allowing 2 households to meet indoors.
There will be some exemptions.
For example, if a single household or support bubble is larger than 6, they can still gather. Places of education and work are unaffected.
COVID secure weddings, wedding receptions and funerals can go ahead, up to a limit of 30 people.
Organised sport and exercise is exempt."
So exactly which "equally dangerous/not dangerous things that the not-posh-kids do" are not exempt?

If you and 6 of your friends want to go and play football in the park together, you can't now.
But if you want to go grouse shooting with more than 5 of your friends, go knock yourself out.

how long is the rifle/gun whatever you use for grouse shooting? I'm guessing long enough to make sure you're 2m apart?
football there would be no tackles, maybe that's the reason?
maybe hockey would be ok?
a friend's 50th is coming up, he was going to organise a party, it was suggested him and his partner of many years turn it into a wedding so the get together can still go ahead, he's insisted it's postponed to next year.

Doubt it, appear to be a police authority and politicians now seem to be going out of their way to encourage Stasi like snitching...

Yeh, one week we are encouraged to go back to the office to work, the next get back home. Then we were encouraged to go to the restaurant and pub to boost the service economy, two for the price of one and all that, and now get chucked out before 10PM.
All sorts of contradictory rules in the space of a few weeks. Makes you wonder if they are pulling these rules out of a hat at these cobra meetings.
Mind you. Could have been worse if a second full lockdown had been implemented, but that would have cost another 2 trillion pounds, so that ain't happening (yet?)
