RE: [VIDEO] Brexit

The only vague hope this country has before this bunch of idiots wrecks it is that the current rule breaking legislation gets thrown out and the Tories throw Johnson out with it.
We then have to hope that the 1922 committee cut up rough enough to get an outside bet into number 10 who chucks out Cummings and most of the present cabinet.

Oh and if I could have the right six numbers for Saturday as well please.

On that note then, are you down the left for this?

Honestly?

I don't know.  I'm uncomfortable with a blanket statement saying that international law will be broken even if in a minor and specific way.

That said, I've also seen arguments that the EU has broken international law and that this government will not be breaking international law.

As with everything law-wise, let's see who has the most compelling argument...

I think the big problem with breaking signed agreements, more than the issue of law... is trust. If you are breaking agreements not even a year old, it makes you untrustworthy, and with trade agreements trust is a major factor.

That's a two way street, and whether you agree or not, a lot of Leave voters (possibly the majority) do not trust the EU to negotiate in good faith.

The government you voted for signed this deal. If they break this deal, not only are they breaking international law, nobody is going to trust any deal they sign, making creating new trade deals way harder, and then the other side who signed those deals can just break them themselves and point at us saying, well you do it, why can't we?

It makes deals... not worth the paper they are printed on. Which means they are worthless.

That is the issue of course. The whole do what we say, not what we do is a non-starter. Everyone's all compliant and understanding about the Covid lockdown for months, then Cummings takes a trip to Barnard castle, and the country's like "screw you".

Now it's Rule of Six, while "breaking the law in a specific and limited way". The country is so going to be "screw you and the camel you rode in on" that it will hurt.

Was watching these little Hitlers patrolling on the streets of city in the news last night, 'Covid enforcers' they are, though they do not have police powers of arrest or fine-ing, thank goodness. They will recruit an army of them soon, to enforce the rule of six people max being together.

This is just one of my worries of police state sneaking in, using this Covid 19 situation as an excuse to do so.

Unfortunately in any country there are always many budding 'little hitlers' and 'we obey orders' types to fill these positions. Sort of covid 19 traffic wardens. Will be glad when this covid 19 thing is well and truly over.
