Page 1 of Kids karaoke machine recommendations...

My niece wants a karaoke machine and I`m clueless about this this and have no idea what to look for.

I`m guessing you have to pay for CDs/DVDs with songs on so I`d quite like a player that can play CD-R and DVD-R if you know what I mean! ;)

Any suggestions?

First suggestion, say NO! (she`ll do your head and ears in with it ;) )
Second suggestion would be steer away from a regular kids machine and maybe go for one of the Console type variants, there are a fair few games appearing now for the Wii and Xbox that the kids seem to love, some aare vocal only, some are dance only, others are dance and vocal.

The problem with the CD`s these things play is it`s generally a blank screen with the words appearing as they are supposed to, some do a video with the lyrics overlaid like subtitles but most we sold in Currys it was a blank screen disc or screensaver type image.... think it might be to do with image rights, copyright etc etc,

And if she already has the console you`d be the best Unce ever to appear with a new game that also filled the Karaoke request.... ;) (but don`t forget to get a mike for it! lol)

The Discs are CD+G but there are also DVD`s of Karaoke albums. This (Linked to a suitable machine for a child) site is the one I used to use when I was KDJ.
