Denis was asked to come back for Force Awakens, but he declined. He regards himself as a serious actor in his own right (and rightly so, he's awesome), and didn't want to be on screen for 30 seconds just so fans can point and say 'Oh look, there's Wedge'. He would have returned for a larger, part, but as cool as his character was, he really was just Luke's wingman. Ok, I personally regard him as the guy who started the destruction of the second death star, but when you look it it, he's got less back story than Darklighter.

His nephew managed to put down half a second of audio for TFA, and he’s got a little more star power. But I was just being facetious.

If they ever get around to making another spin-off movie though, I wouldn't mind a Rogue Squadron movie. If Tom Cruise can make a Top Gun 2 30 years down the line...

Here's my take on the official YT trailer

Start: Hamill voiceover. Probably halfway through the movie. Rey doesn't look that beat up, Skywalker saber intact after TLJ antics.Flip obvious from anyone who's familiar with unleashed. Not obvious, but expected. Kylo piloting Viper

Dark, wet planet. Reminiscient of Rogue One

Kylo fighting rebel on reddish planet. No clues

Kylo welding his helmet back together. Rumours abound that his character may have had feelings for Rey, this clip would seem to suggest that particular conversation didn't go that well

Poe looking like Indy & Finn holding Rey's staff, possibly tattooine

BB8 & D-O (Dio). Cute couple clip. No purpose

Oh look. It's Lando

Stormtroopers on speeders chasing Poe, Finn & Threepio on what looks like a skiff from Jabba's palace.

A New Hope medal being fondled. There were only two issued, and both recipients are now dead, so this is probably Leia doing the fondling.

Rey hugging Leia in a forest scene. I'm guessing this is post-Leia passing, as it looks quite ethereal & dream-like

Gang looking at the remnants of a Death Star. Last voice heard is the laugh of the Emperor.

Now, a lot of speculation is that the planet they're on is Endor. But Endor was a forest moon, and they don't really look like they're on the world inhabited by ewoks (although this gives Warwick Davis an excuse to pick up another paycheque as Wicket).

The only other alternative is Yavin IV, but in retrospect Endor's probably the better bet, not only due to the presence of Sheev, but also to debunk the meme that the destruction of the Death Star 2 would have destroyed the ecosystem of the ewok's home world.

Don’t knock the Disney trilogy! It’s already managed the impossible in my book. Made the prequels look good!
