Inception is a masterpiece, intellectual and a rollercoaster thrill-ride. What do you get when you give a talented Writer/Director $200m to make an original sci-fi film? A f***ing great work of art!

The concessions this makes to appeal to the mainstream are minimal, it could play in arthouse theatres as a sort of hybrid childhood fantasy and philosophical/psychological essay on the subconscious. It works at any one time as an action thriller and an intelligent exploration of the mind (as well as many other things).

Definitely the film of the year for me thus far. Deliberately went into it without reading anything and it paid off. Can`t remember the last time I was so engrossed in a film (probably The Matrix).

That does look pretty interesting. Going to avoid reading as much about it as possible until the DVD release. So rare to get that Matrix experience again I don`t want to spoil it. ;)

highly enjoyable,  tho....  if i could have applied hindsight, i would have waited for the DVD,  purely because i tend only to watch non stop action type movies at the cinema, where as this is incredibly well plotted (is that a word ? lol) & has so many layers it`ll make a lasagne`s head spin,  tho,  i also have to say, that when special effects where used, they where quite frankly amazing,  i`d love to see a "making of" program for it,  some was CG, but i think some of it was done with wirework & a rotating room, but it was soooooo well done,

& it`s a long movie, but not overly long,  there are no slow parts & every moment is driven into the plot, with no wasted space (dialogue wise)

SPOILER:
Not sure if i liked the ending,  i would have liked a definate conclusion,  mainly because i was expecting "it"  (hard to word it how i mean without giving a total spoiler)

was this originaly a book ?

I avoided watching trailers after seeing the first sneak trailer last year I think and bloody avoided knowing anything apart from it was a heist movie with a twist, until I went to see bloody Predators last week and there was full trailer on then.

Didn`t ruin anything though, as the nature of the film reveals itself straightaway, whereas with the Matrix knowledge of what`s happening would kind of ruin the first half hour.

Absolutely sensational film.

I want to see Insomnia again now, as I know watched that back on a dodgy pirate I think after it not getting shown at cinemas around my way.

The main reason I want to watch it again is because Inception, Memento and The Prestige are right up there with my favourite films. With the two Batman films being the weaker ones and I really enjoyed them :D

Will definately be catching this at cinema again, because of Cineworld card, but might even pay to go see it at IMAX this week as going to see a mate in Manchester who`ll want to see it.

I saw this today and went in with high expectations which were not only met, but surpassed by quite some way. It seems that Nolan is developing as a filmmaker at an astonishing rate as this is better than not only Insomnia but his two Batman films as well.

Leonardo DiCaprio is an actor who never seems to have a bad movie as I thought he was superb in Shutter Island and just about everything he has done since This Boy`s Life and What`s Eating Gilbert Grape? all those years ago. The casting is spot on with a remarkable supporting cast led by Marion Cotillard, Ken Watanabe, Ellen Page and (quite surprisingly) Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

It is a film with so many different concepts, layers and plot twists that it will be a definite buy on Blu-ray as it will be, without a shadow of a doubt, a film that benefits from repeated viewings.

Gordon-Levitt is a decent actor. He`s not Tommy from Third Rock any more!
