RE: Tin Tin Teaser Trailer

I don`t think the trailer makes it look at all exciting and, at the end, when you see Tintin`s face, it looks `wrong` somehow and not like the character in the comic books I read years ago.

RE: So, how many times have you dipped?

There are plenty of films that I have bought (or will have bought) three or more times -- the latest will be Dario Argento`s The Bird with the Crystal Plumage. I first bought the ABUS, then the Blue Underground BD and will buy the Arrow Video BD when that comes out (aspect ratio issues aside). I`ve bought Leon twice on VHS, twice on DVD and now on Blu-ray and the same goes for Trainspotting, The Usual Suspects and Reservoir Dogs.

The ultimate in `dipping` has to be The Exorcist which I own twice on R2 DVD (Theatrical and The Version You`ve Never Seen), twice on R1 DVD (same two versions) and now twice on Blu-ray. I bought the UK release and then the US one, not because the content is any different, but because I`m a sucker for artwork and slightly different versions!

RE: Kurt Cobain shot his face off 17 years ago today.

I was staying in a gite with my family in northern France during the Easter holidays and we were far enough North to be able to receive Radio 1. I was listening to the radio late one night when it was announced that a body had been found in Kurt Cobain`s garage and my first thought was `Kurt Cobain`s not a murderer -- he won`t have killed anyone`. I found out two days later that he had.

RE: BBC series - Game On...anyone remember?

I used to watch it all the time but haven`t seen it in years -- it really was a well written and funny show.

As for Samantha Janus, now Samantha Womack, Jessica Stevenson (Spaced, Son of Rambow etc) now goes under her married name of Jessica Hynes.

That makes a lot of sense!

RE: Scissors Paper Stone vs AI

I think the secret is to be completely random so the computer can`t learn your behaviour -- I had my best results when choosing the same thing several times in a row as the computer was predicting something different.

RE: The Warriors (1979 film?)

If I remember correctly, he was taunting the Warriors with a beer bottle on each finger, clinking them against a metal bar -- brilliant scene.

RE: The Warriors (1979 film?)

The Warriors is an excellent film, obviously a cult classic and not really a mainstream movie, but really watchable nevertheless.
If you like that, check out Enzo Castellari`s The Bronx Warriors, Escape from the Bronx and The New Barbarians which Shameless released in a rather swanky looking tin.

RE: RIP Len Lesser (aka Uncle Leo from Sienfeld)

That`s sad the news as he played the character beautifully and helped make the show such a brilliant piece of television. Along with the myriad other things to watch, I`ll have to dig out a few episodes of Seinfeld to watch.

RE: Do you know your boobies?

20/20 -- I more or less remembered the answers from when I did it when it was on the Playboy site!  I know it sounds sad but, in the case of about half a dozen of the pairs of breasts, I also know who the owners are.  David

RE: Bond 23 Greenlit

<html xmlns="">I really liked Casino Royale but wasn`t that keen on Quantum of Solace where the action and plot didn`t quite marry as they had done in previous films.  As I said in my Casino Royale review, I`m not a massive fan of Bond films but I liked that one much more than the last few Pierce Brosnan films which seem to be all about the gadgets and the girl that about Bond and what he`s all about.David

RE: Someone in Florida tried to access my Facebook account

I had exactly the same thing but I think it was Ukraine, not Florida.  Seemed genuine enough, so I followed the instructions and reset my password.  Everything has been fine since then.David

RE: Am I the only person to find Avatar....

No you are not.  There is probably a good 45 minutes of footage that has the `wow` factor but there are another 45 minutes when the extremely clunky plot that is already very baggy and overwritten becomes tedious and you just want them to get to the next action sequence, flying through floating mountains or zooming up and around each other.David

RE: The Survivors

<html xmlns="">I liked the first series but grew increasingly tired of the unlikely situations and the characters during the second season.  It wasn`t so bad when it was just a rehash of the original series but I just got sick of the episodes involving someone in the gang being captured, the rest of them debating whether to go after them or whether to just take flight and then ending up in even more trouble which they eventually escape from.  It was this formulaic approach that annoyed me and I can`t say I would have tuned in to the third season if they had made one.

I agree with those two from Mad Men but would also add Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy from House) -- they are all great from the front and the back!David

RE: In Memoriam - Irvin Kershner (1923-2010) Director of The Empire Strikes Back

I`m no Star Wars fan but, like Rob said, The Empire Strikes Back is the best of the three.  However, I think is best film was Eyes of Laura Mars which is a terrific horror/thriller film and one well worth seeing.
