Apocalypto...

Well I enjoyed it!
Couldn`t really see the `point` in the film, but an enjoyable one nonetheless.
Reminded me of The Last Of The Mohicans (especially all the fight scenes).

It is pretty gruesome in places though, I actually turned away at one point
SPOILER:
When the black cat crunches the guy`s face

Well worth watching and one I`ll definitely add to the collection anyway.

I`m assuming/hoping that this www.youtube.com/v/_p_33lsohcA is the action of whoever pirated the screener and not Mel Gibson himself...!

I thought it was a very well directed and beautifully made film by the king of cinematic sadism. With people having their hearts ripped out, beheadings, animal attacks and all sorts of barbaric violence, this is Mel Gibson doing exactly what he did in `Braveheart` and `The Passion of The Christ`. I don`t think the film had a point, unless he was trying to draw a parallel between the Mayan civilisation and the US, but it was a fine piece of filmmaking.

:/ Why `blimey`? I think that`s what Mel Gibson is possibly aiming at, I might be wrong, but it`s the only subtext that I could think of. It was more like he was trying to out-do the extraordinary violence in `Cannibal Holocaust` and set himself up as a mainstream anti-semitic Ruggero Deodato!

I thought it was pretty amazing, the first film Gibson has directed that I like... really like. It takes the harrowing torture of The Passion and puts it to much better use in my opinion to create a good, fairly conventional story told with precision. Just really liked it, and some of it had me squirming in my seat, not the actual gore, but the fates that awaited them.

Links not working, it wasn`t the freeze frame thing from the trailer was it?

Dunno if it`s the same cos trailer`s not there anymore, so...

Remember "Where`s Wally Now?" had an Aztec city scene?

Well... img407.imageshack.us/img407/9890/bscap0000qx8.jpg it`s the final frame before it cuts to jungle.

There were either very sneaky crew members.... or Mel Gibson knew.

I`d guess that Mel knew, purely because the thing I was on about was this.

When the trailer got the to the middle point where the chase kicks off and it`s flicking between screens if you put it in slow motion this frame was included.
