Is that your DVD collection, or are you just glad to see me?

Matthew Smart (Reviewer) posted this on Monday, 13th September 2004, 17:41

So in all honesty, how many DVDs have you lot got in your wide and varied collections, and when did you start collecting? What is your most coveted DVD?

This could be kinda pointless, as i`m sure everyone will a) follow the rule of 3 and b) outdo the previous poster. Or will they?

But it would be interesting...

I have just over 300 DVDs (counting boxsets as 1).

I started collecting in 2000. My most beloved DVDs are the Star Wars Trilogy ones (although I don`t own the R1 versions I have at the moment (long story, don`t ask), I will own an R2 boxset at the weekend :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ).

I started collecting in Feb 1998 with a region 1 only player.I have well over 1000 discs(boxes as 1),but my favourite is difficult as it depends on what mood I am in.I don`t have a single to name but I love the James Bond Collection.Excellent movies and a selection of extras for even the die hard fans

My collection totals approx 180 at present. Started collecting when the wife won the original Alien boxset, about 2001 I think, so I then went and bought a DVD player. Most coveted is the first LOTR with the bookends. All housed in my custom made DVD case.

You know, that book shelf says `nick me` to any potential thieves ;) I used to keep mine on display until I was burgled, now they`re all locked away!

According to Profiler, I have 390 DVDs (300 of them movies); my collection is sorted into movies/TV/music/sport.
I started collecting in 1999 after getting some DVDs to play on my laptop and then bought a DVD player.
My favourite DVD must be the Scarface Deluxe Gift Set but I`m hoping that the Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition (which will hopefully arrive tomorrow) will take it`s place.

Started collecting in 1999 and my chipped Pioneer DV505 is still doing the biz!

Just short of 600 DVDs (counting boxsets as 1)

Favourite must be the Laurel & Hardy Collection - only watch 2 of the 21 so should keep me busy for a while!

I have something in the region of 30 DVDs. Another question... if you can.

How much would you say you spend on average per DVD film. I would include TV but they are a different case to films. I calculate I have spent on average £6 a DVD. Making my collection worth £180... sh*t. In two years, considering the amount of money I have a year thats a lot. Then add all the PC/N64/GBA games I`ve bought in those years. Damn this collecting business is expensive.
