Business plan finally approved!!!....what should I choose?

Hey,
like many married men, I need to put in a businessm plan, EVERY time I want to splash out. Finally after years of trying I have finally been given permission to purchase a new Home cinema kit!! :) The prob is I was caught by surprise, and now do not know what I should pick, at best I have about £300 to spend, I was hoping for an all singing all dancing multi-region, 5.1, vcd,mp3,jpg etc player, need a couple of scarts minimum.....is this realistic?, what would you recommend?, and most importantly, how much?. Thanks in advance!

RE: Best and Worst adverts at the mo

"Headache?.....Head for Hedex" - Must be one of the most annoying ads EVER. Maybe its cos I watch too much TV, but I see this ad upto 6times a night.

Can`t believe the Lombard Finance Ads haven`t had a mention, you all know the one I mean, with that stupid blue animated phone.

No real favs out there at the mo, but I dont mind the vectra ones, personally I like most ads, that have continuity theme, i.e Oxo, gold blend, but maybe its just cos I`m just real sad!

RE: Mobile Phone Questions

Roar,
If your happy to keep the same handset, and want to change networks you might want to take a look at http://www.mobilesmadeeasy.co.uk they offer a number of sim only deal, that are v.tempting.

My particular fav, is the Vodafone200 deal, which cost £99for a yr, and gives you 200min free anytime, any network, thats just £8.25 a month. Absolute bargain, plus its only £85 if you pay in advance!

Of course you may have to modify your Orange handset to work on another network tho.

Hope its of some use.

RE: Predator £12.99 delivered

Splash, are v.reliable, always had great service from them. Previously known as Under18.org.

Hope this helps.

RE: Naked Chickens

I saw the story, while its all very clever, I`m not sure I agree with the idea of scientists tampering with evolution.

For anyone that missed the story its available on http://www.reuters.co.uk/news_article.jhtml?type=humannews&StoryID=988610# (Mods hope its not against the rules to post the URL)

RE: If you could have been in any film.

Neo would be my first choice too.

second choice, for me would have to be Sonny (Adam Sandler) in Big Daddy, his life is so much better than mine! :o)

RE: Bargain Refurb FAX machines and Cordless telephones

Harry, I know how you feel,
About six months ago, I order 4 cordless digital phones from these guys, one of them had a faulty speaker. With one phone call, they sent out a courier to pick up the faulty unit, and drop off a new one, the very next day!!.

Maybe it was bad luck, but, a week later I discovered one of the batteries wasn`t holding its charge, called them up, and without any quibble, they sent a replacement battery and chucked in handsfree kit for the inconvenience!.

Very slick outfit, absolutley dream to deal with. Would recommend to anyone.

p.s I have no financial interest in the company.

RE: How many DVD`s do you have?

75, around 20 are still untouched/sealed. Missus has banned me from buying anymore until I`ve watched all of them at least once!
Looks like I`m gonna be sub100 for a while yet. :(

RE: Terminator 2?

Thanks for clearring that up Anil, I`ve been after this (metal tin) for ages
When I read it was a flipper, I nearly lost it!

I already have Robin Hood flipper, and it really annoys me!.

Interesting news about Tescos stocking it, as I thought they were sold out months ago. Will go scouting and post here if I`m successful!

<<< How many films do you watch in a week? >>>

For me its barely 3-4, but when I first had Sky, I was doing about 10 just to get my monies worth!!! :)

Got curious cos everyone here (incl me!) has become a victim of dvd hoarding, and are buying new ones, before having seen/opened the ones bought months ago!!!

I know some have as many as 300+ in their collection, but...... Just how many do you actually watch!!!!!?

RE: Termiantor 2 Ultimate Edition (3 Disks)

Lucky,
I`m sure this is just a typo, if there was a 3disc set, you would have heard it here first ;)

RE: Would you pay £3.50 a month for DVD Reviewer?

I`d echo what everyone else has already said,
"Great site, but, not sure I`d want to pay for it"

One great advantage is that, this site offers convenience, by having all the forums/reviews/bargains all readily accessable. If there was a levy, it would just mean that most of us would have to go to 3 or 4 different sites just, to get the same info.

Don`t do it!, To help you guys out, I`ve now begun following the Play link from this site, rather than just opening a new window myself, I regularly go there anyway, so it doesn`t hurt me. I`d encourage all other play fans (all tho there are less of us these days) to do the same.

As for the scan link.....hmmm....leave that to Bear!

RE: NERO photo disc question

Ravi,
I`m sure you were just being helpful, but, posting a serial number, breaches the forum rules, (licensing agreements etc), I`d duck if I were you!

RE: Are CD backups legal?

>>Videoing programmes off the TV is classed as "timeshifting" (i.e. you watch the programme 5 hours or 5 days later or whatever, instead of at the time it was broadcast) so is legal. I think there`s a grey area in terms of how long you can keep the programme on tape after you`ve recorded it, and whether you can give or lend (not sell, obviously!) the recorded tape to someone else.<<

Remember seeing something on the beeb a few years back, stating that you are permitted to keep the recording for upto 28days after the initial airing. You can freely lend it out, as long as no money is being made, but the recording must be `destroyed` after the grace period.

Abe, good for you!....I`ve been trying to learn the guitar for years and am still crap! :)

RE: Back to the future

21 Aug 2002. http://www.bttf.com tis a long way away, and even then it may be delayed. :( but whenever it comes out, I`m sure they`ll release the SE/CE/UE only AFTER I`ve splashed out!!

RE: Forthcoming post-Christmas bargains

Woohoo! my mate gets 20% off at Woolies, so this
is gonna be an even greater bargain.

Thanks for the heads up Clayts.

RE: Back to the Future Question?

RE: Digital Cameras - any suggestion for retailers?

Thanks guys,
Jessops are convenient, cos theres one down the road from me, just a bit too expensive for this particular model. Qed, are only a little bit more expensive then the other places I saw on the net, but I`m happy to pay the extra (£20), if they have already provided good service/quality to a fellow dvd.reviewer.

Thanks again.

Digital Cameras - any suggestion for retailers?

Slightly off topic, but I know a lot of you are into gadgets of this nature.

I already know which one I want (Fuji 6800z), and have found a couple of retailers that I might use, but before I part with my hard earned cash, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations, good/bad experiences, they might like to share.

Any advise gratefully received.

RE: The Video Tape is a Fake (Osama Bin Laden) !!!!!!!!!!!

Mods,
"Zionist jews are behind any major, thing that happens. They are definitely behind sep 11"
Surely thats a rash generalisation, and racialist.

Me thinks this lad is out to promote his own beliefs AND website!!
