So you`d rather con yourself and miss out on 30% odd of the actual film footage to fool yourself with the illiusion of having more picture???
4x3 and DVD for non-film buffs is simply a bad mix - a lot of people can`t accept that they are getting more picture with the black bars and just whine about loosing picture when you aren`t.
The more people who can accept that Black Bars does not = badness then the more likely it`ll be that widescreen DVDs will continue to be produced.
For the many, many of us who find cropped ratio DVDs as almost offensive, the mere thought of W/S DVDs becoming rare compared to Full Screen transfers is VERY worrying indeed!

Without the extra features, DVD would never have taken off as big as it has done. It would have stayed in the domain of film fans similar to Laserdisc IMO. With R1 stores like DVD Soon, I get 2 disc SE DVDs chocked full of top notch extra features for between £10-£12. Okay, sometimes these have padding extras but I`d rather have these available to me than not at all.

It won`t overcome this I`m told - its just something that nothing will be able to get round till someone releases some kind of special mem card.
The main reason for the delay is to appease Nintendo`s concern that it could be used as a bootdisc for copied games in the future as it apparently worked too well and defeated all forms of game protection on the GC!

I reckon no one has any idea when this new Holy Grail will turn up as Datel are still finishing off the product - though I`m told by people close to them that when its finished, it`ll literally be out within a week so when they actually 100% finish it, we shouldn`t be waiting too long for shops to receive stock!

R1 Canadian - probable bilingual cover but released in a couple of weeks
R2 - EiV release remember so a nasty cover is almost certain though you may prefer it over a bilingual cover. But you will be waiting a while till its released and of course it`ll be £9.99 odd in the next HMV sale after its released :-)
I for one have ordered the R1 - I can put up with the Bi-lingual and due to the special preorder price I got at DVD Soon, I have it for £11 delivered - unfortunately for others, that price has long gone!

Yeah - find a lamp, rub it and hope a Genie appears. Then he may be able to wish you up a Freeloader or Action Replay now instead of waiting an eternity like the rest of us! :-)

At least people can order in comfort of knowing the R1 will be bi-lingual safe as Fox don`t use those kind of covers.
I for one am definately waiting for DVD Soon as for the prices they charge, they can have my money early!

Well if its the same tech spec for the movie (DTS, Multiple commentaries) then they have no chance in hell of fitting it onto one disc. Somewhere, something fairly major has been lost cos the PAL transfer will take up even more space on the disc than the NTSC did

Definately going for the Action Replay - I won`t be using it to cheat per se, I`ll use it to unlock features and options instead which will expand the enjoyment of GC titles!

There prices on back catalogue titles are generally poor but on discs released in the past month or so and on the stated preorders, I doubt many can beat their prices!

These guys are THE site for R1 DVDS at the moment - just had Pearl Harbor and Shallow from them for £28 delivered. Also have Monsters Inc, Blade 2 and Resident Evil on order for £33.50 for the 3 separate DVDs delivered.
Cracking stuff, good shipping times and have always answered my questions via human responses and not automated crap from places like Amazon

Well considering a lot of the R1 importers have yet to add this, I am certainly waiting for their prices to appear before ordering either the R1 4 or 5 disc edition ;)

You`d have to ask the big N but obviously they believe that it will be possible otherwise it wouldn`t be an issue. Still on course for a late July/early August release date as well
The Freeloader will let you play US and Japanese Gamecube games on your PAL GC via probably a Boot Disc or Dongle of sorts

Unfortunately its false - some of the PS2 chips require the use of the AR to load PS2 imports so your info provider may only have told you half the story

The real reason for its delay is that the Freeloader will allow COPIED game playback on top of its Import playback. Nintendo are VERY concerned about this and are thus not allowing Datel permission to manufacture copies of the Freeloader at their disc printing plants until Datel fix this issue. I am told this though should be overcome very soon!
The actual Freeloader itself is finished and works 100% so at least we know it will actually appear!

1. You have to pay an expensive shipping charge on consoles - their free shipping doesn`t apply to this
2. You will pick up a hefty Customs charge guaranteed because it is shipped by courier with no customs avoidance employed
I would definately advise you to look elsewhere at places like Lik Sang or NCSX instead
