Band Of Brothers for £15

jeffers (Competent) posted this on Friday, 21st February 2003, 15:38

There`s a string over at avforums.com (credit to Zone), showing how to get region 2 BoB for £15, from Empire Stores (not the tin version, but for £15, who cares?). Starts at £30, then enter a provided code for first purchase discount of £15. The string has had (sort of) confirmation that it is the dvd, and not video, but returns are FOC in any case.

What`s the legal aspect of having this post on here?

I noticed this `offer` at the AV forums, and posted it onto THEDVDFORUMS , but they`ve closed the thread because they got into serious SH¦T with the legalities of hosting this sort of `offer` from Littlewoods, which is an obvious sting on ourparts.

I didn`t even post a link to the AV Forums, but it`s still been closed.

Only reason I ask is incase this site gets closed down, which is what happened over at THEDVDFORUMS for a week or two befor christmas. Couldn`t live without the bargains posted here!

over to the mods to make a call - but it in good faith I am taking it as a real/valid product code, and a real/valid discount for first purchasers, which I am... Not sure what the issue would be against that?

The issue a while back was different. Weren`t they codes supposedly for individuals or something like that?
If this is a genuine offer for all first time buyers then it is a bargain and a good post.
Clayts has obviously seen and acted on the post so you can assume it`s OK by DVDReviewer too.

Placed order got confirmation email then looked at other codes in fast search box on empirestores.co.uk. The one the thread gave you XD3438 B/BROTHERS £30.00.Then I tried XD3437 this was B/BROTHERS £53.00.
I think we`ve got the VHS version.Oh well, free to return items upto 14 days.
But we can hope I`m wrong.

There`s no direct link here to Empire Stores, or a mention of the £15 offer code. We are merely repeating what has been displayed prominently on AV Forums, hence I see no real problem in posting here.

DVD Forums did get into hot water with Littlewoods, but that`s because they were posting unique discount codes offering up to 66% off. This Empire code is a generic one, sent out to new customers. I can see why they pulled the thread, to protect the position.

XD3438 is definitely the DVD set : at least three people have rung up Empire and confirmed it with them. XD3437 is actually the VHS set :-)

And hell yeah...I dived straight in for it, so it gets the thumbs up from me :-)

Considering I`ve been waiting for this to come at a good price - what a time to log in and check the latest bargains !!

I`m not at all worried about a tin - wouldn`t go with the bookshelf anyway !

Superb spot - ordered, received confirmation email and now sit back and wait for it to arrive ;-)
