I started off being a bit underwhelmed by season one but it grew on me so I'm actually looking forward to season 2.
How much that's due to not much else being released it's difficult to say.

That's what annoyed me at the beginning. I thought it was just lazy plotting lifting stuff straight from classic westerns.
I thought Joss whedon did it much better with Firefly.
