Makes little sense to me. What are the board thinking? Oh look we`re in the premiership now, we can be one of the big four!

It is quite incredible.
But it`s been rumbling for weeks, so no surprise.
Allegedly, some players have refused to attend training under Hughton for weeks.

I would imagine he`ll leave with his reputation intact though.
He`s done a helluva job, and is handling it with dignity.

he`s maybe just stunned. :¦

Probably "Corner boy" Carrol gubbed him .

Seriously though Ashley is a phuqen fool and has , yet again, treated a manager like scheitte. Though I am extremely pleased Newcastle are in the EPL I am still strangely sad they are. I shall attempt to explain :)

Had they been languishing mid table in the Championship this season then he may have had his hand forced and sold the club. The reverse allowed this phat phuqen clown to take down the "For sale" sign , get his replica top out of the cupboard and show the "Toon Army" that he is still one of them and loves the club.

If he loves the club take a reasonable offer, that does not entail a loss, and walk away before he destroys any affection people have for this proud club.

absolute madness.

his profile is probably not "big" enough for the NUFC board.

bizarre really, their arrogance and ignorance is astounding.

hope he gets a new job soon :)

Yes a lot would like to join our club. Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City.

Don`t do your team down Paul, Man Utd are already in the big four, they don`t need to join it.

....and Martin Johl has left Ajax by "mutual agreement".
Don`t bother rushing the bookies have stopped giving odds on that.

Can`t help thinking that a year or two down the line Hughton will have come out of this better than Ashley.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

As much as the decision is ridiculous and Hughton did a good job there, I have spoken to people up in Newcastle who have involvement with the club and said that he didn`t have control of the players.

They were saying the only manager in recent times who`s actually been able to stop them going out was Shearer in his short spell (although that didn`t work out).

I was there just after they beat Arsenal 1-0 at the Emirates and was told the majority were out on the lash getting smashed up on the Sunday evening. This was before the game at home to Blackburn that Wednesday, which they proceeded to lose 2-1.

If they`d won that game and Utd had beat City in the Derby Newcastle would actually have gone to 4th place.

I think Hughton`s position in controlling the players though was always undermined the board.  He was only made caretaker manager and only got the job permanently after winning 3 of the first 4 manager of the month awards last year.  Even then I believe he was only given an 18month contract which would end the beginning of this season, so they`ve clearly just been waiting to get rid of him.

Martin Jol has left Ajax by mutual consent so looks highly likely to be the appointment, which is quite ironic, given the way Ramos got his job at Spurs and the uproar at his treatment by Daniel Levy.
