A couple of questions:

Is this tested with v1.4 firmware?
I`m a bit worried about the disclaimer. If I get the one of the buttons wrong is there a way of doing a reset to "as shipped"?
Can u give me any advice on how to transfer home video Hi-8 onto Cds? What software and hardware would I need on my PC, aside from a CD writer?

PN I have just done this on my Ver 1.4 and can confirm it works.

Great one IT Troll, we even get the vcd indicator on the panel. Only question though I get PBC and the run time on the display what does PBC mean ? the B is like a 3 with a line through it.

As for you Ironduke I thought this was a forum for sharing Info, If you did know before Christmas what where your motives for withholding this from LG owners. It is good that there are people on this forum still willing to share information and not look to ways of making money out of it. I know this is the real world and knowledge is king but its people like IT Troll that make these forums work.

Good for you Troll, but I can ASSURE you this is NOT the same method I use to enable 3350`s to take VCD.

Oh, and a word of warning, you CAN disable the player completely when messing around with the settings. I already have and it took two players and a reprogramming of the ATMEL chip to return it to working.

However, I`m pleased you managed it, and it`s an easier method than I used.
Dunno if it works on the Aiwa, but I`ll give it a go.

And Croc? With Dabs selling at £189 and crippling anyone trying to get started, without an "edge" like the VCD playback, how do you suggest I beat their pricing?
It costs me almost £189 to buy the players, then we gotta add shipping, insurance, returns etc.

I was tolder under an agreement of complete silence, and I didnt pay much attension as I dont own an LG nor have plans to buy one.

ITTroll is a decent chap but his credits list is a little small ie .....just him.

Great, now all we need is an SVCD hack for the Aiwa ;-)

But I assume you alter the same parameter, the very parameter I suspected and suggested a month ago! I imagine you take a dump of the whole thing, replace the required values, and then write it back?

I can well believe this. I managed to get my GUI in Portugese during my investigations! That is why I hope I have managed to write very clear instructions.

I`ll take that as a compliment Ironduke. I have put quite a bit of work into the content of my site now (2am last night doing the VCD stuff!), all for no personal gain. I think you will find my site names and thanks all the contributors where ever appropriate.
