Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
I find it worrying at times that an idea like that can even get outside of someone's brain without them thinking, "what the hell was I thinking?"
Still, it wouldn't be the first draconian orwellian law this government has passed:

Downing Street said that measures in the Investigatory Powers Bill would provide the authorities "with the tools to keep you and your family safe".
It will "address gaps" in intelligence gathering and access to communications data which is putting "lives at risk".
But civil liberties campaigners claim it will pave the way for mass surveillance of UK citizens.
and...

Jim Killock, executive director of The Open Rights Group, said: "The government is signalling that it wants to press ahead with increased powers of data collection and retention for the police and GCHQ, spying on everyone, whether suspected of a crime or not.
"This is the return of the 'snooper's charter', even as the ability to collect and retain data gets less and less workable.
"We should expect attacks on encryption, which protects all our security. Data collection will create vast and unnecessary expense."
With most sites moving to https, I'm not sure exactly how they can monitor your activity much, without breaking the encryption.
Worse still, a major issue in the US they are having is data overload, they have so much of it they can't spot any so called terrorist activity. It's a lot like betting on the horses, you can come up with a system that picks past winners just fine, but getting that system to pick future ones is suddenly not so easy.
As always no politician ever says, "We need to solve the problem of extremism whilst protecting the very civil liberties extremists want to take from us."

RE: Theresa May or Theresa may not.
I always find crap like this worryingly laughable. The powers that be are, and always have been about 20 years behind the rest of the world. If they really knew what they were doing, Tor would be a deserted wilderness.
I remember Dave saying once "People tell us we're to late to police the internet, well I say that's not good enough".
I used to work in a hotel. One night a couple came up asking for a table in the restaurant. I told them we were full and didn't have any empty tables. His immediate response was 'well that's not good enough', before getting all flustered and demanding to be seated. I calmly took him into the centre of the packed out restaurant and told him to choose which group of diners he wanted removed from their seats.
Just because you're late for dinner, doesn't give you the power to control who gets to eat.
