Give me your opinion on this...

Pete-MK (Elite Donator) posted this on Friday, 11th July 2014, 23:11

A while ago, I collected decorative swords and knives. I managed to sell a couple on ebay before the tabloids got their hackles up and the market went to pot.

There's a local Facebook 'no rules' page that I was going to give a try, because I simply have no reason to have these things any more, but I'd like an independant eye over the listing before I post it;

Quote:
I am willing to sell a number of decorative knives. These items are PURELY decorative, as they are completely impractical, being less dangerous than shop-bought kitchen knives, and come with wall-mounted display plaques. For the purpose of this sale, I am selling them as 'decorative knife-shaped wall ornaments'.

I'm deliberately not posting any images.

Although this page is 'no rules', I have to impose at least one. If you wish to purchase any or all of these items from me, then I will require photo ID accompanied with proof of address, which I will take a copy of for security purposes.

If you are unwilling to agree to this, DO NOT contact me, as I will refuse the sale.

Item #1: United Cutlery Fossil Hunter 2 UC1227- £40

Item #2: United Cutlery Leviathan UC1149 - £50

Item #3: Valdris by Kit Rae - £60 (not the special edition, and it's never been called the Bat'leth 2)

All 3 for £130 - Items are unboxed - Google is your friend

The only one of these pieces that has a sharpened cutting edge is the first item, which has a sharp edge no longer than 3 inches. The other items are fully false-edged (although obviously very sharp at the points)

These items are being sold as decorative items ONLY, and are not being sold as 'weapons' in any way, shape, or form.

Thoughts?

Ebay expressly forbids items being sold as knives, but I think I'll have a go as listing them as ornaments. Worth a shot

Not sure where you are in the country but find a reputable Firearms dealer somewhere close and see if they'll put them on show for a percentage of the sale price. Surprised if they wont.
