RE: Homebrew - beer, not piracy...
My Grandad did homebrew once. Put it in stoneware bottles in the pantry. A few days later the family was woken by a series of terrific thud noises that literally shook the house. When they looked in the pantry, a couple of the bottles had shattered, bringing down plasterwork.
It`s only illegal if you set up a still.

In a bid to save cash at uni, in our infinitive wisdom decided to brew some homemade beer.
After a few weeks of waiting and setting up and checking and following all instructions we waited for the night we could sit and get wasted on our new superb beer...tasted like **** and the rest ended up down the plug hole.
I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad

Heh cool. I bet there is a constant odour from it. I remember whenever I visited my uncle`s place he`d always have some wine brewing, and there`d always be a smell emanating from whatever cupboard it was in.

When I lived in a semi-detached a few years back, the neighbour nearly took our dividing wall out with a batch of beer he was brewing in the airing cupboard, that decided to explode with a force 9 on the richter scale :/
Its a dangerous game, if you do not know what you are doing LOL :D

I`ve heard a few horror stories now... getting a little worried. Followed instructions to the letter though, so here`s hoping...

have been brewing for some time
Find beer and wine better than lager as with lager can get too fizzy
You should bottle beer rather than putting in a pressure barrel
