Drivers who pull out to the outside lane on a dual carrageway...

OK as everybody is asleep today, here is my grouse of the day.
Drivers who pull out to the outside lane on a dual carrageway & continue at the same speed as the other cars without attempting to overtake but will not move over to let you by.

Does my head in too, but if they are at the speed limit for that stretch then they have every right to be there just as you or I do so I just sit patiently waiting.
If they are under the limit then they`ll get a friendly flash of the headlights ;)

As much as I hate drivers who hog lanes if anyone ever flashed me I take it to mean they want me to p!55 them off by either driving slower or not moving out of the lane!  In all honesty though I never get flashed as I accelerate faster than most cars on the road which also means I get p155ed off more frequently with these "fast" lane drivers!!!  Lorry drivers are my biggest hate, overtaking on hills, FFS!!!

I`ll add mine to that, people who join a dual carriageway that are going to be turning right at a roundabout 2 miles down the road, so stay in the right hand lane.

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

How do people feel about under taking?

I`ve done it before and as much as I think it`s a prick!sh thing to do, at the time it felt great!  I`d love to have a chat with some of these people you encounter on the roads and ask what, if anything, is going through your head while you`re driving?!!!

Not a career choice I`d make personally, but a valuable service given at a time of emotional need. ;)

The law actually states you`re allowed to under-take, in certain circumstances.
Say, for example, everyone is sitting in lane3 of a motorway, as often happens, to the point they`re slowing down.
There`s no law against you sailing past them in lane2, then rejoining lane3 at some point further down.
Blatant under-taking is a different story.
I would class blatant under-taking as being in lane3, darting into lane2 to get past someone, then darting back into lane3.
If the cops saw that, they`d do you.

It`s only the sort of thing I do when the person I want to pass seems oblivious to my flashing headlights, and even then it`s something I do cautiously.

I absolutely hate people who do it because they think the motorway is a racetrack.

With regards to undertaking the Highway Code covers this under two sections

Section 258 refers to motorways

Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.

Section 163 other roads

only overtake on the left if the vehicle in front is signalling to turn right, and there is room to do so
