Doing (of course) film locations and studios. Anybody else hooked on virtual globetrotting and if so, where do you like looking?

I remember when War Of The Worlds came out I found the bridge that gets exploderised (in Bastogne, New York), as well as the street where Tom Cruise lived and the baseball field that they dug up to build Manny`s garage.

I use it all the time.
Been dealing with worldwide companies for decades, with no opportunity to visit them.
Looking them up on GE is great.
Sometimes gives me a better feel for logistical problems of getting stuff to/from them.
I`ve also used it to get a feel for Prague and Brno, which I`m visiting very soon.
Also used it to see where friends have moved to etc.

Talking of War of the Worlds, peering at Universal Studios, I`ve spotted the 747 crash scene, next to the old Psycho house.

Which leads me to querying Andy Collins` statement in his Radio Times column about the 747 crash site being damaged in the fire. I think he`s confused it with the 747 standing interior set which is housed in a block next to the video vault destroyed in the fire.

Cool, I`ve done barcelona and valencia for the moto gp but always wanted to do Brno.

I`m hoping silverstone gets the rights to hold it from 2010, I went there for the F1 last month and it was great!

anyway, to keep the thread on topic, have you looked at brands hatch on GE? you can see the trucks in the pitlane from a WSB meeting. pre 2003 I`d say unless they`ve updated the picture since I last saw it.

indianapolis looks cool on GE too, it looks so huge!

Britain seen from above will be showing August 10th @ 2100 BBC1. Using satellite technology to create stunning images of Britain from above.
