At least 31 dead in another US University shooting.

Seen Here.

AOL news is reporting 21 deceased and at least 10 injured but BBC is saying as many as 31 dead.

Aparently the shooter is dead but it`s still unclear if the police took him down or if he killed himself. No word if he was a student or not either.

Absolute tragedy and my heart goes out to the families of the victims.

Regards
Bryan

First murder was 7:15am but the kids weren`t told: the shooting in the academic buildings were just under *2 hours* later. An email went round telling the students to lock their doors and to stay away from windows *after* that, and classes cancelled still later. That`s some spectacular negligence by the administrators.

Apparently the guy was looking for his girlfriend, and shot anyone he came across.

But hey, everyone in America has the right to own a gun or 5.

And you`re spot on gurly, 2 hours between shootings and no exac? WTFingF??

You`d think the schools and universities would of learnt from the many school tragedies in the past that have involved guns, such as the Columbine massacre back in 99.

I lived in virginia for 4 years....mainly in Charlottesville which is the home of UVA so visited blacksburg with friends many times due to the football rivallry....It is a fantastic town with genuinly fun people, contacted my friends around there this morning and offered my sympathies. Scary in us tho..when i lived there I lived in the pawn shops..awsome bargains on the whole and i must admit that just because i had never actually held one i asked to see a 357 magnum in one of the shops (incredibly heavy and scary) and at that time i could have walked out with it because in va there was no background check required (I think its still the same). I hope that this will force some change in the law but doubt it.

God Bless them all :(

America.

Doesn`t the `right to bear arms` mean against invading foes?

Not against your own.

And what about the lame brain who espoused `guns don`t kill people, people do` ?

I`d vote Eddie Izzard over Charlton Heston any day.

God bless the victims and their families and curses on the right wingers and NRA.

Against an oppressive government, the same amendment mentions a well-organised militia.

Yup, it was written into the bill of rights at a time when the british weren`t too happy with Washington and his lot nay-saying the crown. Oh, and those pesky natives were being troublesome, too.

America was founded and established through theft and murder. That kind of stuff comes back to bite you in the ass every now and then. But for every child that never fulfilled his dreams and ambitions, what with having his cerebral cortex blasted out of the back of his skull, there`s be the Hestons who`ll tell you it`s their god-given right to be allowed to carry something that serves no other purpose than to threaten death.

Just heard on News24 that it is indeed still the same - no background check required to own a gun in West Virginia!
Contrast that to this country, where my father-in-law got (or should have had, but it never actually happened) a police caution for scrapping one of his shotguns and not going through the proper channels and informing the police about it.
