Page 1 of Dodgy call

I just had a really dodgy call.

The guy new my full name and then asked if I used to live in Sandhurst. I told him no and he said that he had some mail he wanted to forward on to me and then he asked me my date of birth which I told him I wouldnt give him and that it wasnt me.

Then he said well its very odd that you would have the same name as this chap and said that the guy he was looking for had parents called Rolph and Jemimah. I said no definately not me and to go away as I was eating dinner. He then said I a understand but a bit of a big coincidence dont you think. Then I said look I think I know where I have lived and what my parents names are and I dont want to speak with you any further and put the phone down.

Maybe I am being paranoid but it sounds like he was fishing for info by using my name and address from the phone book. He was probably going to try to get into my accounts or something.

I just wondered if anyone else has had this sort of call or if I am too suspicious of people.

Maybe it was a long lost brother? :o

you wouldn`t be in the witness protection scheme by any chance would you 8) :D

If you`d given him the correct answers to these questions it`s fair to say he`s probably found some of your old bank statements and was indeed phishing for the answers to some of the security questions normally asked by your bank.

Could be a debt agency looking for same name person. They trace people sometimes like that.

Shred or burn practically everything.
If your anything like me your regularly getting pre approved loan applications from financial organisations you`ve never even dealt with and also be aware of all the credit card companies sending you cheques you haven`t asked for.
