Retirement - Its the end but the moment has been prepared for......

Mine mainly from the site

As the result of news received in the last few hours, I have been offered a new contract in Taunton (lower rate) 10 months on, 2 summer Months off (& then repeat), starting Jan.

I don`t think the new regime is going to be as quiet as *** is so I wont be about as much in future.

Its a lower rate, but closer to home (it halfs my weekly travel time overall) & I can save on a second bunch of housing expenses.

I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.

good luck buddy, i hope it all works out better for you & the family (i couldn`t live away from home for the week then travel back for weekends)

i`m sure you`ll find time to fit the odd post in, after all, being around "less" is very very relative when this is your current post count..............

Cheers all, its not a full withdrawal (Ohhh err Missus).

I will still be about in the evenings & weekends unless I sucumb to the lure of the accursed TV & I am not gone yet.

There`s opportunities abound for me to crank my post count up with quiet periods at work & then edit them until I am happy with them.

Its post Christmas that I will be at the flat to fully pack up, anyone that fancies a pint in Dartford to speed me on my way is welcome, anyone in London area a meet can be arranged for me on the decreasing trips home in the Paddington area, though I will have NN in attendence after Christmas.

Nothings official signed in blood yet, but I am already thinking of the friends I have made up here & the team I leave behind in the past tense. :(

When that gets you down, just remember how much closer to home you are, some choices are harder than others, being closer to your family & a solid 2 month block of holidays should make you feel better :) & i take it you`ll still be home for weekends ?
