FIFA once again make my life harder......the Offside Rule has changed again

Pointless changes geared towards scoring more goals, discouraging draws and selling the product to the yanks.

Why dont they just give 2 points for a goal outside the area and get it over and done with?

Now call me crazy, but if a forward is drifting around the keeper he is interfering with play even if he doesnt touch the ball. The defenders and the keeper will all be keeping half an eye on him and positioning themselves accordingly. How exactly is that not interfering with play? F***ing idiots.

Heard about this the other. They were using this rule in the Confederates Cup and it was frankly ridiculous. Players would run 20 yards chasing the ball when its knocked through, only for the whistle to blow as soon as he touched it. >:(

No you aren`t crazy. You have a perfectly straight forward common sense attitude to the subject. Unfortunately FIFA don`t.
I can see some long coaching sessions about new techniques for making runs off the ball and a whole new career for Mr Colina as a highly paid consultant if Chelski want to spend even more of the Russians ill gotten dosh.

Today I read that the FA aren`t going to follow FIFA`s `reimagining` of the offside law, so that either makes it easier next season or even more confusing!
So long as Ruud Van Goalhanger doesn`t get his way too often, that`s all.

So when a ball is played through to a player (in an other-wise off-side position) and it deflects off a defender, will the attacker be offside. Afterall under the new rules, he wasn`t off-side when the ball was played through and the last player to touch it was a defender so therefore not off-side when he receives it.

Saw a game of footy at the week-end that had by far the simplest interpretation of the rules and there was not a single arguement or abuse at the officials regarding it. Both sides simply agreed not to apply the rule. It was simply a friendly but turned into a cracking open match, Final score 4-2.

Scrap the rule altogether !!!!!!!!!! Simple.

Its the best way.

Like i said, this is clearly an attempt to increase the scores in games and make it appeal to america.

Its the main national sport for most of the world, for gods sake. If it aint broke dont fix it.

They will be making the goals wider next.....

this is my sig. there are many others like it, but this is my own......

They should just scrap the offside rule and just have good old fashioned Goal Hanging!

It was good enough for school.
