Should a 31 year old man ride to work on a BMX?

HaGGis! (Elite) posted this on Monday, 30th June 2003, 16:04

Hellooooo my fellow forum mateys...

I`m getting a lot of stick at work due to the fact that i bought a bike to ride to work on.. and that i bought a Hoffman BMX rather than some acceptable mountain bike..

Doesn`t bother me one bit what anyone else thinks. especialy from collegues who wear the same clothes to work every night.. and who all either live alone or with their parents..

what do you all think?.. Just to wind them up more.. i`m buying trick pegs for the back forks... lol..

Get in there Haggis!!!! Put some on the front too and do that boomerang thing with the frame while standing on the front pegs (does your brake cable go through the stem?)

Thanks for the memories - I`m 31 too and often think it would be wicked to have a BMX again, far more civilised than a skateboard! Unfortunately though I`m 15stone now, hehehehehe.

The only ever stunt I ever did on a BMX was an endo, when my back brake cable snapped.
A brown trouser moment to be sure, but I was assured that I looked cool and my mates were dead jealous.

Keep the BMX mate, more power to you.

I admit it is a little strange to see someone going to work on a BMX rather than a mountain bike, but there is nothing wrong with it.

If you can do tricks it makes it even better ;-)

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how wrong it is ;-)

Ah, Haggis, yet another highly amusing anecdote! :-D

Power to you mate, ignore what the sad bastards think - they`re probably jealous as they`re parents won`t let them own a bike, let alone a BMX.
