The game not enough people liked is getting a sequel:
I actually enjoyed it, but was a bit annoyed that I couldn't go back and complete a few optional bits once I'd got to the end area. :(

Godawful colour scheme aside, I am definitely ready for a Mad Max-inspired open world shooter from the makers of Mad Max. I ploughed 70 hours into that game.
Gameplay trailer tomorrow.
You know there was a patch that resolved the endgame bit?

No, and I have no idea what happened to my save games so I'd have to play it through all over again. :/

I remember picking up Rage really cheap on PS3, I quite enjoyed it, have no idea how far I got in it!
looks like id and John Carmack's involvement and the game in general have been in development hell for a while :(

Hoping this has a more RPG feeling to it...

Not using in-house engine:

I guess Carmack joined Oculus because new 3D engines had become boring, and I guess Rage 2 is using another engine because it doesn't need anything special, because modern hardware and engines are so good, you don't need anything special.

To be fair, the Just Cause engine is fine and will work for this sort of thing, although I don't know if it's versatile enough to do RPG type features - which is my hope for Rage 2...

During Bethesda's E3 showcase last week Avalanche's Magnus Nedfors and id Software's Tim Willits stepped up to confirm some surprising news: the two developers, united by Bethesda's reach, were working together on a followup to id's 2011 post-apocalyptic shooter Rage.
