Kevin Smith Films

Ben Franklin (Reviewer) posted this on Saturday, 4th June 2005, 14:30

A bit bored, and DVD Reviewer seems to be dead at the minute, so...

Am I one of those in the minority that think Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back is the best Kevin Smith film?

Although I like all of his films (yes, even Jersey Girl) its the only one I can watch over and over. Chasing Amy grates, probably down to extremely irritating Joey Lauren Adams.

So, whats your favourite Kevin Smith film, and why? :D

I used to like him, but after listening to his audio commentaries I`ve completely gone off him, and think he`s an egotistical twat.

I`ve not listened to his commentaries, so can`t comment on that. But "An Evening With... is good. :D

J&SBSB, easily, simply because it`s hilarious, plus it`s got Eliza Dushku in PVC.

Personally, I think he`s incredibly down to earth. He might come across as egotistical, but in today`s film market, you have to.

Dogma, without doubt.

J&SBSB a close second, though.

Tough choice but it has to be Clerks - the script is excellent, the soundtrack is good and the production costs concentrate the acting and dialogue; I like to watch the `Jersey trilogy` (Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy) in one go as they are all linked together and reference each other.

I loved Clerks; thought Mallrats juvenile and only occasionally funny; Chasing Amy okay but like Amy herself, pretty horrific in parts; Dogma I enjoyed; Jay & Silent Bob can`t remember much about, but I remember thinking it not bad. Clerks all the way though for me.

i like them all for different reasons, many as outlined above. only exception is Jersey Girl which stinks and stinks and stinks again.

Easily J&SBSB just because I always found Jay (mainly) and Silent Bob the funniest part of Smith`s films :D Although I did like Mallrats as well.
