MADTheOgster (Elite Donator) posted this on Sunday, 12th November 2006, 13:19

small footprint black multi format (dvd +r & rw & -r & rw) plays mp4 etc, loads of inputs & outputs, looked Very nice for £67,,,, very nearly got one myself :)

EDIT= also as well as front phono connectors it had a small pc type connector, could have been firewire, or one of those odd micro usb sockets (not standard usb or mini usb) figured that might be worth mentioning :)

I brought one of these from Tesco`s from Milton keynes. It`s Liteon DD-A110 Model. Easy to setup and works at treat. I have used both DVD+ DVDRW+,DVD- DVDRW- and had no problems with recording to them. The important thing to remember is when want to use the DVD on another DVD Player or PC make such you finalise the disc! It is easy to make Multi region by
1. Press the Setup button on your remote control
2. Press the Down button on your remote control to highlight the Exit option
3. Press the 2 button on your remote control
4. Press the 9 button on your remote control
5. Press the 6 button on your remote control
6. Press the 0 button on your remote control
7. You should now be in a new menu where you can select 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or Region Free for multi-region playback
8. Press the Setup button on your remote control

It currently setup on my Sky Box + coonect the Video recorder Scart. At £68 its a barg

first impresions are very good, at the front of the machine you have a set of phono sockets (composite/audio) + Dv link (thats the one i wasn`t sure about earlier) whilst at you have another set of standard phono`s + composite !! & another 2 fully RGB compatable scart sockets, i`m about to run the auto set up & sort the chanels out etc, i`m also burning a disc with a standard 45 min episode of veronica mars in xvid + another in the better quality hi(er) res 700meg xvid file, if it plays both we are on a winner,

oh, i allready tried a dvd, i use the animatrix for my test disc (chapter 1, the osiris) & the lite-on played it very nicely, better picture than any of my budget players & at Least as good as my panny dmr-e30 recorder (at the time a nearly £500 machine)

only slight negative is the remote, it`s full length & well featured, but it`s one of those slimline doohickys that takes a large watch battery, it looks nice & works well, but i can see it being a pain to operate in the dark....

EDIT= i should mention that i`m using it with a technosonic 32" lcd (quite similar to the woolies one, but with more inputs, ie component as well as hdmi/vga/etc) the tv is £450 & although £50 more than the now unavailable woolies jobie, it`s still f***ing excellent value for money, hi-def stuff looks amazing on it (:¦
