RE: Speed of burning a DVD with LG GSA 4163B Super multi

Ogster - it was about 15 files - short 10 to 20 minute films.

I only have about 9GB free on my Hard Drive. And when I was creating the DVD project it used about 4GB of that. Could this shortage of spare memory cause the slow burn times?

(I have managed to burn a MP3 CD and it took just 3 minutes to burn 14 albums onto one CD.)

thanks

Speed of burning a DVD with LG GSA 4163B Super multi

I just got one of these drives and I used the software to compose a DVD from clips on other discs.

When it came to burn the data to a DVD-R it took about 3 hours! i.e. it seems to be only burning at 1X speed not the advertised 8X

Does anyone know what I could do to improve the burn speed?

When I clicked burn - it said `writing titles` or something and it took about 5 minutes for each 1% of the progress bar!

I had to leave it overnight to burn - Agggh drove me nuts. Heeeyulp please!

DVD-RAM discs - Panasonic or other brand?

I am looking to get some more RAM discs for my Panasonic E55. The one`s I have just now were £14.99 for 5. (they are panasonic`s discs).

I saw some others - {DV 3145} Datasafe 4.7GB DVD-RAM Single Sided Disc = 10 for £14.99 (i.e half the price of my Panasonics)

Are these compatible with my E55?
Does anyone know if these will be any different in quality if they do work?
& is there any way to get RAM discs cheaper?

If I was to buy a DVD player for transfer my RAM discs to finalise onto cheaper DVD-R`s, is it only Panasonic that make DVD players to play RAM discs?

(starting to realise that a HDD might be a good idea after all. If only the idiots in Curry`s had explained it properly to me!)

thanks

Do I need to finalise a CD-RW with MP3s for the DMRE55

Hi,
Looking to pick brains again, sorry.

I just copied a stack of MP3 files onto a CD-RW.

Do I need to finalise the disk before my Panasonic DMR E55 will play them?

I would just try it, but I am at work at the moment and would like to know before I get home and the disk doesn`t work!

thanks

RE: DVDR Setup Scart help please.

Sorry if my message was confusing, Jimbo seems to know a lot more about it, listen to him!

RE: DVDR Setup Scart help please.

I dont think you need the TV AV1 to sky box connection, the signal should be going through the DVD to your TV anyway, even when the DVD unit is switched off.

Therefore you have a spece for the VCR scart into the TV. - or just use the VCR`s RF out to the TV in (using standard co-axial aerial cable)

only an amateur`s opinion!

RE: JPEGs on Panasonic DMR E55

Thanks for the info.

Sorry I am a bit ignorant about this.
Do I use a standard CD-R or RW to create a VCD with my pics?

JPEGs on Panasonic DMR E55

I have just got an E55 and it does not play JPEG files from a CD. I have access to a DVD writer on a PC. Can anyone recommend a way that I can store my photos on a DVD so that I can look at them on the E55? Someone recommended creating a slide show but I don`t know what software to use to make a compatible file that the E55 will recognise.
thanks
