RE: Top 5 most frightening films of all time.

Drag me from hell......I would prefer to watch it in the dark, not a really really serious horror movie - well i personally didn`t think so, but then again I`ve not seen much that`s really scared me as an adult, however I can definatly visualise a lot of people jumping up whilst watching the movie.

RE: Top 5 most frightening films of all time.

A recent horrow movie that I really liked but I wouldn`t class as being frightening was Drag me to hell!

RE: The official Arsenal 10/11 Season Thread

Arsenal are so slooooooow to announce new transfers!
Koscieny has to be in the bag just waiting for the official annoucement.....however due to our dealings in the transfer market I can see more outgoings than incomings!

We still need a goalkeeper, another cb after Koscieny, midfielder - either dm or a creative winger.

I know it`s not all doom and gloom but a few more transfers could really make the difference. Any fellow Gooners who feel differently and more positive please post and help me feel more positive!

Domain name purchase questions

Hi.

I`m looking to purchase a couple of .com domain names and I would like advice on where the best place would be to purchase these.

One of the domains will simply be a personal website, which would host my CV etc and the other one I was looking at being a business related domain but it would be just to advertise my part time services such as PC repairs/upgrades, networking etc.

I think freespace would be sufficiant and there wouldn`t be any need to buy any hosting unless someone suggests otherwise?

I have come across the following companies:

uk-reg
.com - £8.89

1&1.co.uk
.com - £8.89
# 50 e-mail forwarding addresses
# Domain forwarding & parking
# Full DNS Management
# Online account management
# Unlimited phone and e-mail support

netfirms.com (US based)
.com - $4.95
* 1 e-mail account @ your domain name
* Parking page
* web-based DNS management
* 24/7 technical support
Netfirms Basic Hosting
25MB, 1GB, 1 E-mail

godaddy.com (US based)
.com - around $8.25

The US sites are alot cheaper, any reason anyone one suggest not going for them? Which of the above would people suggest going with?

Thanks,
G

Where can I dowload video files under 96kb to send via my mobile?

Hi.

I`ve been given 10 free video messages to be used by tomorrow on my Orange contract. I have a Nokia 6230 and I have been advised that there is a limit of just 96kb per video file that can be sent from one mobile to another.

Can someone point me in the right direction of any websites which have video clip files of such a small size that I can download and then transfer onto my phone?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Put your Xbox Live Gamertags in here....!

I`ve only got PGR2 and Top Spin recently and I`m pretty new to Xbox live so I`d like to play any newbie's or people who are simply rubbish so I can finally do well and it will also give me a bigger ego boost!

RE: Argos clearance 75% *OFF* loads of items, starts Fri Oct 8

Hi,

I`m also a little late in reading this...

From what I`ve read I dont think you can find any of these bargains on the website, correct me if I`m wrong?

So I assume you`d either have to go in store or phone up?

Can you tell me what is likely to be available now?

Cheers,
G

RE: I`m ON XBOX LIVE!!!! :-) :-)

Hi,

I recently picked up my new Xbox (see NTL Thread) and I`ve got myself onto Xbox live last night. I`ve just got the two games PGR2 and Top Spin, I got my a*s kicked on both games last night, anyone out there a beginner and wants to play against me?

Also what`s the gametag database that someone mentioned earlier?

My tag is: Puth Sardara De.

RE: SO WHICH P2P SHOULD I GET

Hi,

I used to use: eDonkey for Movies & Software and Kazza Lite for single MP3 files.

But since my new broadband installation I`ve found eDonkey and Shareazza very slow and I cant get hold of Kazza Lite.

I have tried Bit Torrent, but would prefer something where I can leave a few files on download whilst I`m at work.

I would like to know the general opionion on what`s the best P2P for downloading:

Movies?
Software?
Single MP3 files?

RE: Just got an XBox and need advice on what game/s to buy!

Thanks for all your comments.

Based on this and through checking out the reviews of each of those games, I've narrowed it down to just 5 games in order of preference:

Ninja Gaiden - £29.99
Halo - £14.99
Soul Calibar II - £12.99
Top Spin - £27.99
Project Gotham Racing - £21.99

So there's my hit list. The prices quoted are from www.gamestation.co.uk and are for pre-owned games.

Does anyone know where I could pickup the same games cheaper?
I don't mind if they are 2nd hand or not.

RE: MX-5 1.8i Sport £199.99 a month delivered

Hi,

I might be interested in this. But not too sure how it all works? What are all the costs involved? Is it a better option than saying purchasing the same vehicle but one that is 3-4 years old?

Whats (3+23) and the difference between Contract hire and personal contract hire?

Networking advice for beginner required!

Hi.

I`m due to have my NTL installed in a few weeks. I`ve decided to go down the Ethernet route. As I have previously being connecting my modem by USB. I have an ABIT NS7-S Motherboard which has this built in.

I would like be able to connect an old Mac 9600 to the broadband connection along with my PC. I think the router option would perhaps be the best, what exactly do I need for this? Are there any sites which provide information on how to set this up - beginners guide! :-)

Cheers,

G

RE: NTL broadband free Xbox offer & price cuts

Cheers for that....

I`ve got an ABIT NF7-S....does anyone know if I still need to purchase an 10/100 ethernet card?

Had a quick look at the manual and it doesnt mention anything about an 10/100 ethernet card.

Hi.

I`m due to have my NTL installed in a few weeks. I`ve decided to go down the Ethernet route. As I have previously being connecting my modem by USB, what do I now need for my Ethernet connection to work?

I believe I need to purchase a specific card?
Also would I be able to connect a Mac to the broadband connection?

RE: NTL Speed increases. Have you had yours yet?

Hi,

I`ve recently signed up for the NTL Xbox package deal at 600k. I`m due to have this installed in a few weeks. Will I also be getting this increase?

RE: NTL broadband free Xbox offer & price cuts

Hi,

I`ve recently signed up for this NTL broadband offer, when signing up online the £50 install charge was discounted but I`ve now been told that they will be charging me for this as I`m getting the free Xbox. Does anyone know if I could make NTL honour this £50 install charge discount?

Also is there a choice over what kind of modem you can have, e.g. Usb or network enabled, as I was told there was no choice and there is only one kind of modem available. Someone mentioned in one of the earlier posts that there is a choice?

Cheers,

G

RE: NTL broadband free Xbox offer & price cuts

...Also if you click on the link and proceed with the NTL order the £50 deposit/installation charge gets refunded? Does anyone know why?

Cheers,
G

RE: NTL broadband free Xbox offer & price cuts

HI,

I rang up NTL to confirm that they were still running this offer which they said they are.

I`m seriously considering cancelling my Pipex £23.44 a month 512k broadband and going for this deal.

I`d be tied in for at least 12 months but the free Xbox just seems to tempting. I`ve worked it out that it will cost me £68.60 if I just used the £24.99 service or £92.60 if I went for the £25.99 Xbox live service with 2 IP addresses.

What do you think? Is it worth it?

How good is the NTL Broadband service? Do you get disconnected if you leave it running all day? Would I be able to connect a 2nd PC/Mac to broadband service?

Cheers,

G

RE: LG 8110 on 3 - anyone have one and what`s the verdict?

I`ve heard the LG 8110 is decent phone but the negatives are that it does not have bluetooth and it`s on the 3 Network!

If you have to get on the 3 Network then I`d wait until the new Sony handset comes out, which I`ve been advised will be in August. My 12 months are up and I have refused to upgrade to the LG handset as I find their customer service and coverage terrible.
