RE: fridge freezer help...please!!

I would suggest manually defrosting it. I discovered from a fridge service engineer when one of the bottle coolers at work went wrong, the condenser system that should do the automatic defrosting gets iced up and this makes the fridge get warm because it is insulating the coolant and the more you turn it up the worse it gets. It has happened several times on my fridge freezer when the door has not been fully shut.

RE: Man Vs Mouse a personal account

I tried one of those big plastic mousetraps, useless.

By the time boot had kicked the ball down the stairs and round the gutter, dropping the bowling ball through the bathtub, knocking the diver into the barrel and dropping the cage, the mouse had buggered off.

IMDB challenge

I was looking for a John Saxon movie on IMDB and was surprised by the amount of credits he had, which got me thinking - Who has got the most credits for their chosen
profession?
My best so far is Christopher Lee with 257 entries as actor.

RE: Dead Rising.... So what do you think now you`ve had time to play?

How many people have had problems with the size of the text? - I`m not playing in HD, but with a 32" widescreen philips connected through the s-video.
If found that the general picture quality was much better after buying scart/s-video cable, which vigin are selling for 9.99. Although most games still suffer from being too dark on the picture settings I watch tv with.

RE: POLL: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man`s Chest

Went to see this today and was quite dissapointed. I really loved the first one, but this one really didn`t engage me, I thought the opening was weak and it was definitely too long. It definitely suffers from being a set up for the next film. I would agree that the perfomances of bill nighy & stellan skarsgard are superb - I knew I recognised bill turner but couldn`t place who it was - and the effects for davey jones made him look real. However the plot had to much running about, finding and escaping through coincidence, the whole thing about the jar of earth never actually went anywhere, and if the kraken was following jack why did it attack the ship after he had left?

wish i`d gone to see "district 13" instead now.

xbox 360 - vertical or horizontal?

As there seems to be quite a number of 360 owners here I would just like to know if which position you are using it in?
Ive had mine for about a week and had it vertical to begin with but found that the game I had played most had become scratched and unreadable, also the disc tray was dropping slightly and not opening.
I did some some research on the web and it appears the drive units lack some stabilisers inside which can cause the discs to get scratched. I have since moved mine to the horizontal position, lying on top of my original xbox, I managed to clean the scratches off the disc that would not work and it seems to be ok now.

xbox 360 - best deal?

I have been looking for while for the best package deal, but came across great univeral website,
full xbox 360 £349.99 - not that cheap but, 20% off your first order, makes it £280, plus you can get it with 40 weeks interest free credit, and you get 12.5% cashback on your account which would be saving another £35.

RE: V for Vendetta - Anyone else been to see it yet?

It lived up to my hopes, and was much better than the reviews made out.
I thought the casting was superb, John Hurt was very "1984", Stephen Rea was great as the plodding plod, and I was surprised and delighted by stephen fry`s appearance.
I don`t agree with the criticism over the breakfast scene, it just showed that V was human under the mask.
The only scene that I had a problem with, and a could not grasp the logic of what was actually occuring, was the tv broadcast that got deitrich arrested. Was this a scene from the comic?

RE: The Great Cereal Scam!

40g is a very small amount - about 3 tablespoons of muesli or porridge oats. It is impossible to actually weigh out 40g unless you have digital scales - analogue scales measure in multiples of 50g.
I always have my cereal in a "babies" plasic bowl, and mix it with yogurt instead of milk.

is this wharfdale any good?

Wharfedale DVD3210DVX DVD Player with DIVX.

RE: Woohoo!!! Smoking`s banned in ALL pubs/clubs

One of the biggest reasons for this decision is to protect workers, if a non smoker gets lung cancer or another smoking related disease then they will be suing their employers.
It will take time for the effects to be realised - does anyone complain that you can`t smoke while you go to the cinema? It will also drastically reduce cleaning costs, insurance claims, the cost of ventilation / air con systems in the premises affected. The biggest change I think will be in nightclubs, lots of pubs have beer gardens so you will be able to smoke out there, but I don`t see nightclubs letting you pop out for a fag.

RE: tarantino CSI tonight on channel five

This epsisode begs the questions, how can they do a fingerprint search & match quicker than I can search for a file I`ve just downloaded?
Can you really stand in a room when a bomb goes off without suffering permanent hearing loss - the paramedic asks Grissom if his ears are ringing, they should be bleeding!
And if they wanted equalise the weight in the coffin surely they should of filled it with water before he got out.

RE: NTL 1Mbit @ £9.99 Per Month for a Year

My connection was upgraded to 1MB a few months ago, I didn`t ask for it it, it just happened. I wasn`t going to ask for the upgrade because of the limit, although I had been told by someone who got a free upgrade that NTL had told them they actually had no way of capping your download limit.
